Chapter #7

Tharja reduces Tharja's size

"Oooh... Ahhh..." Tharja mumbled to herself as she worked, mixing together different things in a big brewing pot. She was currently researching a new spell that could help the army in a big way. However, with her current Dark Mage skills of sorcery, she was not able to cast it on her own. So she was making a powerful, magic-boosting potion to help get her to Sorcerer levels of magic mastery.

The dark haired dark mage had her sights set on Robin as her ultimate test subject of the spell, but had not yet mentioned her plans to the white-haired tactician. Instead, Tharja thought it was better to surprise the army's strategist by casting the spell without saying anything beforehand. In her mysterious mind it made perfect sense, she'd be able to get the needed information on how to properly cast such a powerful spell, and best of all, she'd have a cute little Robin to play with. It was like killing two birds with one stone to her.

"Okaaayy..." Tharja mused to herself as she went to mix in the last ingredient into her magic-boosting elixir. The pot blew up a colorful burst of smoke into her face, Tharja coughed it away, not expecting the reaction. She didn't think too much of it though, and soon mixed the last part of her concoction together.

Tharja looked down at the dimly glowing, green mixture she'd brewed up, satisfied with the way it turned out. She almost cracked a smile as she grabbed a bottle and dunked it into the brew, bottling it up neatly.

"Here goes nothing..." Tharja said, and then downed the potion in a single gulp. She tossed the bottle away afterward and then swallowed, feeling a sudden energy burst, but the feeling faded in the next instant. Tharja chuckled to herself, thinking that making the brew was all too easy for her, now all she had to do was cast the spell.

Tharja ran over to her spellbook and hurriedly picked it up and dashed out of the room. The dark mage then made a beeline for Robin's tent, but upon entering the area that her obsession slept at, she was disappointed to find it empty. The gothic woman groaned, but luckily had a back-up in mind for just such a set-back.

Tharja sat down on Robin's bed, she took a moment to appreciate the fact that she was sitting in the same bed that Robin slept in, and it took a lot of willpower not to just bundle herself under the covers and wait for Robin to return. But Tharja knew better than that, she needed to use magic to help make getting Robin hers a little more easier. So, after a minute or so of feeling up the comfortable covers and mattress, Tharja flipped through her spellbook to find the spell she'd so desperately wanted to cast on Robin.

"Sh-shrinking spell..." Tharja mumbled to herself as she ran her fingers over the words on the page. Her latest find was a dark magic shrinking spell, one that would shrink the target to any desired size with no limits on how small one could get, nor how long one would stay at their reduced height. It suited the mystic woman perfectly, and was to her an acceptable way to get her hands all over Robin, just as she'd always wanted. Sure, the target of her affections would be smaller than normal, but Tharja was willing to make compromises to achieve her goal.

With her magic powers boosted from the potion, and the spell already being recited, Tharja was looking forward to getting a cute little Robin mini to play with. Thanks to the abilities of the shrinking spell, Tharja could simply cast the spell now on Robin's bed and it would act almost as a trap, activating to shrink Robin whenever the tactician returned. This versatility made it quite the powerful spell indeed. So much so that Tharja even thought that if Robin were to be upset at being shrunken for some reason that revealing the spell in such a way would be fine given how useful it would be against their enemies and the object of her affection would not mind so much.

So Tharja got up and cast the shrinking spell on Robin's bed, making sure that whoever so much as brushed the bed would almost instantly be shrunken down to miniscule size. Tharja was pleased with her handiwork and chuckled grimly to herself. But then, a horrible thought crossed Tharja's mind. What if Robin didn't sleep in the bed tonight? Or ever again, even?

Better safe than sorry... Tharja thought darkly. She glanced around at everything in the room. Then, one by one, cast her curse of shrinking onto each and every object that was in the room. Each casting would only shrink once, so it was better to make sure to get as much sorceled as possible. It took several minutes, but time was not a factor for Tharja's mission. That is, until she heard Robin's voice just outside the tent, and it sounded like the tactician was coming in from a meeting!

Tharja froze, not getting the time to admire her handiwork nor daydream some more about a tiny Robin. The dark mage's eyes darted around the room for somewhere to hide herself, so as not to be seen in what might appear to be a creepy situation. She found the perfect place just by the bed, a small make-shift chest that was being used for clothes and supply storage. With not much time to spare, the raven-haired beauty dashed for the chest, opened it, and hopped inside, making herself small enough to fit inside by keeping crouched. Surpringly to her, Tharja felt the box to be quite big and accommodating for her, despite being filled with some other things. In fact, it seemed to be getting even roomier by the moment.

"Oh no..." Tharja mumbled as she realized her foolish mistake. Robin's item chest sprawled up and out and all around the unlucky girl as her body shot down in size. "Crap."

Unfortunately for the manic mage, she had cast her spell on the very same chest she was using as a hiding spot right now. This little mistake had resulted in her being the one to wind up shrinking, instead of her obsession. Tharja knew she was about to go down to only 2 inches tall, as that was the exact size she'd hoped to make her beloved Robin become.

Tharja cursed her luck, but at the same time, she was somewhat pleased to find her spell working as she intended it to. She was just glad she hadn't gone as far as to curse everything in this chest, otherwise she'd be far too small right now. Being shrunken wasn't so bad though, she thought, she still had her clothes on and could still do all her other spells. Tharja tested the latter part of her theory by casting a weak Fire spell, it flamed up in her hand as a fireball for a few seconds. Long enough for Tharja to confirm that she was indeed trapped inside a case that Robin was using to store clothing and other supplies useful to the battlefield. Tharja let the flame fizzle out. She sighed. Her magic was indeed still intact, but she'd only just now remembered that she wasn't prepared for the growth spell. Tharja couldn't cast the magic to restore herself to normal size without creating another magic-boosting potion, and the ingredients to make the potion were outside Robin's chest that she had trapped herself in inadvertently.

"Aaah!" Robin yawned from outside Tharja's prison, it sounded like the tactician was inside the tent now. The tiny Tharja groaned. Her obsession was right outside and jumbo-sized no less! The dark diminutive wished she could go to Robin right now, but she was far too small to get out of the box herself. Surrounded by ordinary objects that almost all outsized her, Tharja again cursed her luck. She tried to get on top everything, but in her scramble to do so, things underneath shifted and she wound up falling even further below them. She groaned again as she knew she had no choice but to wait for Robin to rescue her no matter what anyway.

Then, as if on cue, the box opened up. Tharja smiled weirdly, bracing herself for her beloved but inadvertent savior as she looked up and saw...
