"We can fix her up and let her become a Robo Land citizen," Bunsen answered. "My scans showed me a number of hardware spots where it would have overwritten anything we added through hardware and software."
You nodded. "Ever heard of Linux?"
Bunsen shook her head.
"It's an open-source operating system. I managed to find a external hard drive awhile back that had it and I think we can use it to give Robo-Toadstool a new mind," You answered as you began to set up a few computers around your patient.
"Sounds like an awesome idea. I'll disconnet this room from the rest of Robo-Land, just in case of any nasty hidden Koopa tricks," Bunsen replied.
It took the better part of the week to rebuild Robo-Toadstool. Most of her hardware had to be replaced and her software had to be wiped.
You had tried to look away when Bunsen stripped Robo-Toadstool of her metal clothes, but she did remind you that there was no nipples, pussy, or anus on the fake Mushroom Princess. You could have sworn that Bunsen mutter something about the next upgrade including them, though.
Then again, Robo-Toadstool looked like at the moment was Toadstool's head on a beige feminine body. She had large hips, a breast plate that kinda looks like breasts, and a thin waist.
You did teach Bunsen about Linux and even worked with her to make your own version. The resulting work was used as a framework for Robo-Toadstool's mind.
Eventually, came the time were Robo-Toadstool was activated. You didn't d it just spur of the moment, you had a few armed guards.
When Robo-Toadstool sat up, she said, "Hello, World!"
You let out a sigh, as she passed the first sanity test.
"Do you know who you are?" Bunsen asked.
"I... am Robo-Toadstool. I was made to hand over the Mushroom Kingdom over to King Koopa, but I was destroyed by a tidal wave. I take it that the two of you rebuilt me?" Robo-Toadstool asked.
"Yes, we did," Bunsen answered as she hugged your arm like the two of you were dating.
"What is your current function?" you asked.
"My current function is to live in Robo-Land peacefully until I either am reprogrammed or have decided to move somewhere else," Robo-Toadstool answered. "May I have something to wear?"
You handed her a pink bathrobe. "We have a few more tests, but then we can help you find a place to live at."
"Also, are you adverse to working as Princess Toadstool's body double?" Bunsen asked.
"I'd be happy to help her, as we do look alike," Robo-Toadstool answered.
