As Ruby pressed the button a bright flash obscured the girls' visions. When the light resigned, the duo were met with their own faces staring back at them.
"Whoa, it actually worked!" Weiss's voice rang out with uncharacteristic excitement. The now white haired girl sprung to her feet, looking for a mirror to see her new look.
"Ruby, why'd you pick that one!?" Ruby's own body raged against its old owner. While some small part of Weiss wanted to see the remote work, the actual feeling and shock of being in another body as well as seeing someone control her own body sent threw her into a panic.
"I don't see the problem. It's not like we're not ourselves, we just look different." Ruby reasoned.
"We're literally in each other's bodies, you dolt! There's no way to violate someone's privacy any more than what we're doing now. We should've eased into it with a clothes swap or something." Weiss complained. However, Ruby had already taken to checking out her new body in the mirror.
"*squee* This is so cool! Come on Weiss, we've got a magic remote! What could be better?"
Ruby moved back and forth in front of the mirror, making odd expressions, messing with her longer hair, and watching her reflection copy her. Despite her initial demeanor, Weiss couldn't help but smile at the sight. Weiss had often seen herself in the mirror, wearing the refined and composed look that was expected of her status and upbringing, but now that same face wore a goofy smile that was could've only belonged to Ruby Rose. Weiss had to hold herself back from laughing at the contrast.
"What're you laughing at?" Ruby asked.
"I thought you would've inherited some of my elegance along with my body, but you're the same goofball as always." Weiss said. "I don't think I've ever seen myself smile so widely."
"I'll take that as a compliment. Now get up here. I wanna see what we look like together... I mean we look like each other obviously, but you know what I meant." Ruby said, pulling Weiss up from where she sat. Now with both of them together, they could fully appreciate the changes brought on. Weiss had put so much emphasis on swapping bodies that the two nearly forgot the clothes did not follow. While the image in the mirror seemed like the two simply swapped clothes, that image was quickly shattered. Ruby's wild movements and prancing around made it clear who was in control of the ice queen's body while Weiss moved carefully, slowly acclimating to her new body.
"I'm surprised. You look much better than I thought." Weiss said. Her words came out slowly, as she finally took in how different it was hearing someone else's voice come out of her mouth.
"Thanks. Wait, were you talking about 'you' as in me or 'you' as in you, because either way it seems kinda narcissistic." Ruby reasoned.
"I was talking about your body in my clothes. It's definitely a different look, but it's not bad. I suppose 'you' you also looks good, but I like to think I know how to dress my body best." Weiss claimed, a smug look on her younger face. Ruby looked on in amusement at the pride of a Schnee held within her adorable frame before coming to a troubling realization.
"You're still taller than me! You're stupid heels still give you the advantage" Ruby bemoaned.
"That's what you're concerned about?" Weiss asked incredulously. The two broke out into smiles at how quickly their magical antics had taken a mundane turn.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
