Not waiting for a response from the security system, or any of the other devices in Hazel's room, you quickly left the room, breathing a sigh of relief as you closed the door behind you. No more pretending to be Hazel. Now you could just head back to your room and get changed into something a bit more sensible and infinitely less embarrassing. You stumbled down the hallway, still having trouble walking in your sister's sandals. You could have just taken them off, but in your haste to find some more appropriate clothing, that hadn't really crossed your mind.
As you reached your room though, you hit your first roadblock. You reach your door handle, but for some reason, it wouldn't turn. "Huh?" you mumbled to yourself as you jiggle it a bit more, but to no avail. The door handle seems to be stuck closed. You let out a sigh of frustration. This must be your security system acting up. While Hazel's had apparently been very involved, you had requested something a little more simple from your mother. The security system for your room would simply refuse to open the door unless one of two circumstances were met; you were already inside the room and hadn't locked it down, or you were the one opening it. Obviously you weren't inside the room, but the second condition was still met. You were the one opening the door, so it should be letting you in.
"Oh, don't tell me it doesn't recognise me like this," you grumbled. When you asked for a simpler security system, you didn't think that meant it could be fool by just a change of clothes. Was wearing your sister's clothes all it really took to make your security system think you were really your sister? That did check out actually, seeing as your sister's security system had thought you were her even before changing clothes. Perhaps your mother just wasn't good at programming whatever scanner was being used to identify who was who. Unbeknownst to you, the issue actually went much deeper than an outfit fooling the scanner, but you wouldn't figure that out yet.
"Alright, where else can I get clothes?" you mumble to yourself, turning away from the door. You'd been wearing your own clothes before Hazel's auto-closet pulled them from you, so maybe you could retrieve them. It probably took them too the laundry, since you'd already been wearing them. At least, you hoped they were there. Worst case scenario was that they were still inside your sister's closet, and she'd one day end up in your clothes and realise what had happened. That was a problem for later though. For now, you just crossed your fingers that that hadn't happened, and headed down to the laundry, doing your best to ignore the feeling of the skirt swishing around your legs.
You thankfully manage to make it to the laundry without incident, besides almost tripping a few times and being a bit wary around windows. Unfortunately, your hopes were dashed as you entered. The washing basket, and the washing machine, were both empty. You grumbled as you stomped around the laundry, looking for any sign of your missing clothes. You ultimately gave up looking yourself and just turned to the small screen in the laundry. Many of these had been placed around the house by your mother you communicate directly with the house's computer. You usually ignored these yourself, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
"Computer," you asked, "What happened to the clothes that were just taken by Hazel's auto-closet?" The house's computer probably knew that you entered Hazel's room and used her closet, but you decided to keep your question vague just in case it didn't. No sense alerting any protocols your mother may have set up regarding you and your sister violating each other's privacy if it didn't already know.
"The clothes that have passed through your auto-closet were identified to belong to Austin. As they were not sufficiently dirty, they have been placed in his room."
"Of course they were," you grumbled. The only saving grace, the clothes the closet had taken from you, were in the one place you couldn't get to. In your irritation at your situation though, you'd missed the exacts of what the computer said. It has referred to the auto-closet as "yours", and the clothes as "Austin's". Somehow, your sister's security system had managed to confuse the whole house, and now everything thought you were Hazel. Until your mother got home, or you somehow managed to fix it yourself, you'd be stuck only having access to Hazel's things around the house.
Of course, you hadn't realised that just yet. You were still too focused on how to get your door to recognise you as yourself again. You didn't have any of your regular clothes anywhere around the house, but maybe you could find something else. The pool, for example, had some of your swimsuits stored away, if you could get changed into one of those, your door should recognise you as yourself again. At least, you hoped so. Alternatively, you could take a shower or visit the spa. That would afford you a little time to relax, and you could probably leave with just a towel around you. Maybe that would be enough? It would be better than just turning up to your door naked, and it would hopefully prevent the door from getting confused.
Alternatively... you could try visiting your mother's room. She obviously didn't have any of your clothes in there, but she did have something else; her clothes. If all it took to confuse your door was to wear someone's clothes, then maybe you could trick it into thinking you were actually your mother by wearing her clothes. You were sure that she must have included some sort of override for herself in your security system, so maybe it would let you in if it thought you were her. You sister's auto-closet didn't have any issues with dressing you, so you doubted your mother's closet would see any issue with a different user stepping inside, and although you'd still be wearing women's clothes, they'd probably be significantly more sensible than your sister's clothes. It had been a while since you'd been in your mother's room though. You hoped she hadn't brought any of her experiments of devices from her lab there. You didn't want to accidentally activate something you shouldn't.
