Chapter #6

The Goo

    by: Mindovermatter Author IconMail Icon
Puzzled, Evan shook the vial containing the strange, vibrant green substance. It wobbled a bit due to the shaking. But nevertheless it didn't look like it was coming out at all. The lion found a knife in one of the kitchen drawers and tired using that to pry the gel-like stuff out. But it did nothing, the knife easily sliding in and out of the substance.

Frustrated, Evan took one more stab at the green stuff. The knife nicked the edge of the glass vial, slipped, and pierced the lion's paw. He yelped, dropping the vial onto the sink. It shattered as it hit the metal basin. The green stuff retained the shape of the vial as rolled around in the sink.

Evan swore under his breath as he turned the faucet turn, running the small, bleeding cut under warm water. It splashed off his cut finger onto the green material which started to quiver. Upon seeing this, the curious lion brought the head of the faucet directly over it, dousing the green matter. The quivering became more pronounced and violent, and soon the matter began losing its tube shape. As it took on a more anomalous shape, Evan was surprised to see it swell up and expand, taking up half the sink in mere minutes.

He shut off the water and stared in amazement at the green goo. Carefully poking the substance with a paw, it jiggled around slightly as would a thick jelly. Evan tried stick a paw in only to find the green goo much more solid than it seemed. He then tried sticking a paw between the basin and the goo to pull it out only to find that it was stuck too firmly to remove the green material.
