The current hero of Hyrule, Link, was seen as an enigma to the fellow knights under Zelda and to the people he swore to protect.
To some he was just as he seemed from a glance, a noble knight who swore to protect the princess with his life. One who would rise early and sleep late doing knightly duties like deliver medicine to the sick and keep the castle clean
To others however he was anything but noble. There were rumors of him smashing pots for rupees, participating in illegal Bombchu racing, and doing any odd job for money. The times he was seen cleaning the castle were rumored to be because he was caught in the act of mischief. He must have been a hoodlum who didn't care about his knight duties at all
Neither of these views on Link were wrong, however that didn't mean either of them were completely right. These two interpretations of himself came into his mind as he practiced his swlrd techniques on a training dummy
He was devote to Hyrule, and especially to Princess Zelda. As the hero of the triforce he was prepared to give his life for her, thankfully the need hadn't come up during their last journey. He was also devote to Hyrule's people. He would always spend hours in Hyrule Castle Town listening to the people's needs and doing everything within his power to fulfill them. All the rumors about his positive deeds were true, well, nearly all of them. Link couldn't wake up at dawn if his life depended on it (Which it often felt like it did with Impa's training)
However, just because his positive rumors were correct did not mean the negative things people had said about him were completely untrue. While he enjoyed being a knight, the pay was abysmal, just enough to live. How could he go out and drink special milk on this salary? Who could really blame him for scavenging pots for extra rupees.
This desire for extra rupees was also where the rumor of him being a man who would do any odd job came from. While Link would never charge people for potion deliveries or anything that could help people, he would charge for mundane tasks like cutting lawns with his sword or walking dogs. He had also accustomed himself with Hyrule Castle Town's gambling undeground. Many of his free nights were spent trying to win big in Bombchu races or guessing the correct treasure chest
Rumors were rumors, only Link knew what was right and wrong about him and that's all he cared about. He was a devote knight with a bit of a reckless spree
His last sword strike broke the training dummy. He went to the shed where the knights kept the spares to grab another. However as he grabbed the dummy and was leaving, he noticed something strange on the ground. A case of what seemed to be around 30 bottles of a strange liquid.
Picking a bottle up, Link began to examine it. While a liquid, it's texture was closer to that of a chuchu jelly than that of a potion. Link wasn't one to think before acting, if he wanted to know what this did, there was one way to find out.
"Bottoms up" Link said to no one and began to drink the strange liquid. As soon as he did, the hero passed out. However something was strange, after passing out Link was looking at his own body! He was a ghost!
"D-did that kill me?!" Link yelled. He was panicking, did he just drink poison?! "How could I do something so stupid?!" As he looked at his unconscious body he noticed something that gave him hope. His body was still breathing! He breathed a sigh of relief "Okay, good. Not dead" Link said, he couldn't imagine ___'s reaction if they found out the hero of Hyrule had unknowingly drank poison and killed himself.
As that person entered Link's mind however, he felt his ghost body begin to travel at lightning fast speed out of his control, soon putting him in the body of.....
