It was an ordinary day in republic city. People were going to work, kids were going to school and the spirits were living in harmony with the humans. It was truly a tranquil time.
It was also an ordinary day for the CEO of future industries. Ms Asami Sato. This young lady was in her early twenties. She was tall, beautiful, kind and above all very intelligent. She and her company had contributed so much to the world, it was amazing how far they’d come in just a short number of years.
But work never stopped for Asami as she was always working towards the future. As of late she had been trying to reduce cost of shipping and handling all of her products. Right now they were spending way too much in this. She ad been trying to think of a way to do this.
Then a couple of months ago she had a brainstorm and wondered if she could find a way to make things smaller then that would drastically reduce the cont and amount of shipping she would have to do. Hell she could make it so things were small enough to all be delivered in one delivery.
But she wasn’t going to stop with just products and materials, imagine how much easier society could manage if they could change the size of everything! This included human animals and spirits alike!
With this resolve Asami set herself the task for the next few months in solely making her idea a reality. And today was finally that day.
In her office Asami took out her size changing device, it looked like a remote one would use to watch movers but it had a bright bulb at the end that a beam would emit from and reduce its target in size. She hadn’t thought of name yet but she was tempted to call it an Asami ray...
Pointing it at her chair she took a deep breath and pressed the shrink button. A green beam shot out of the remote and struck the chair, to her delight the chair began to dwindle in size immedietly. In git smaller and smaller until it was only an inch tall.
Clapping her hands together in delight she walked over to the chair and picked it up, it had retained all its characteristics only now it was tiny. Smiling she placed it down again and switched her remote to grow. Talking another deep breath she slowly aimed and pushed the button.
Once again to her delight she saw the chair growing bigger and bigger until it was back to normal size!
“Oh my god it works! It actually works! This Asami ray of mine is gonna change the world forever! But I should see if it works on a oeeson as well...” Asami said.
She sat down at her desk and began to think of who would be the perfect guinea pig, she would love to test it on herself but the thought of something found wrong and being tiny forever didnt appeal to her. That’s when she had an idea. Turning her intercom on she made a quick announcement.
“Attention this is your CEO Asami Sato speaking. Will Van please report to my office please. Thank you.”
Sitting back she waited until there was a knock on her door.
“Come in!’ Asami said cheerfully.
In walked one of future industries newest interns Van. He was 18 years old, he was also quite short for a man at only 5ft tall. Hell Asami was at least a foot taller than him without her heels on. That being said he was also quite handsome for his size and was a hard worker and always looking to impress her. She was sure he’d be the perfect guinea pig.
“Y-you wanted to see me Miss Sato” Van said nervously.
“Yes thank you for coming so promptly. Relax by the way Van you’re not in trouble or anything” Asami said with a reassuring smile.
Van sighed in relief and toom the seat that was offered to him. Asami then went through her proposal of shrinking him in order to ensure the device was safe. She told him he would immediately be restored to normal height and that no harm would to him. She also threw in a little white lie by saying she had tested several other people an animals alrwady and that he was just a final test before release.
Van listened intently whilst nodding and asking the occasional question. He lit up when Asami said he’d be given a permanent job at the company for doing this and also she mentioned that when she grew him back she’d add some inches to his height!
Now Asami wasn’t even sure that she could grow something beyond its original height but she thought it would sweeten the deal. And she was right, after ten minutes Van was conviced and stood in the middle of the room awaiting the start of the test.
“Ok I’m all set Miss Sato.”
“Thank you Van. And please call me Asami” Asami said with a reassuring smile.
“Yes Miss Sa..Er I mean yes miss Asami” Van replied shyly.
Asami smiled again and pointed the Asami ray at Van and pressed the button. The green beam shot out of the remote and struck Van. Once more to her delight Van was shrinking in size!
However Asami never mentioned to Van how small she intended to make him. She could start off somewhat small just in case things go wrong, or she could see how far she could go in order to determine her Asami rays power.
