This choice: Neo trys to talk to Ruby without the book • Go Back...Chapter #7Neo trys to talk to Ruby without the book by: turtleguru   Neo didn't like the idea of just writing into existence that she was dating Ruby. Especially since she was the younger sister of her sworn enemy. Neo got up and left the room without a word as per usual.
Neo was used to being confident in everything she does. When she wanted to take something, she stole it with confidence. When she wants to prank Yang, she jammed paint balloons down her shirt, right in-between the oversized tits. When she wanted to seduce someone, she shows up naked in their bed. Now, when she has the task of wooing a simple pretty girl with no real expectations of romance and suddenly she felt nervous.
This was the first time Neo felt nervous in a few years. This new sensation led Neo to do something she hasn't done before in her life. She strategized. If Yang was there this would be much harder so Neo needed to get Ruby alone. She should probably also bring something. She knows Ruby likes cookies... where would she get cookies? Neo satisfies her sweet tooth exclusively with ice crème. Does she get some from any store or does she get them from a bakery?
"Sup shorty?"
Neo jumped when Yang greeted her. She wasn't aware that anyone else was here in this hallway... where there were about a million students now that Neo was looking around.
"Whoa, you ok? You usually not... jumpy."
Neo rolled her eyes. She didn't need Yang's pity. She might need her approval though... oh fuck she needs Yang to sign off on something.
"Ok so apparently you can't lie when you really care about something." Yang said "Good to know."
Shit, Neo's always been super expressive as a way to cope with her disability. She wasn't making sure to hide it. She couldn't put up with Yang right now and she is ill-equipped to approach Ruby about her little crush. Neo deployed her last tactic available. Running away.
As Neo turned to leave Yang grabbed her shoulder. "Nope! I know we don't get along but something is clearly bothering you a lot. I swear I will not tease or prank you for this, scouts honor." Yang made a motion of crossing her heart with her hand.
Neo wasn't a fan of Yang's new holier than thou attitude she had suddenly adopted. To demonstrate this, Neo made a diamond with her hands and aggressively gestured at Yang before leaving. Yang didn't know sign language but hopefully she got the point.
Neo returned to her room, without so much as seeing Ruby and felt exhausted anyway. She flopped onto the bed and moped aggressively.
"What's your problem?" Mercury asked her, having never left his spot.
Neo's response was to throw a pillow at the boy. At least she had Emerald's suffering on the toilet to sooth her soul.

The next day Neo went out to get cookies at a bakery because she at least had to go big.
When she returned she saw Ruby at the training grounds and almost approached her with the gift, before immediately turning around and cursing herself for her cowardice.
Later Ruby showed Penny around the school but at least Neo was used to jealousy. After she dropped the weird ginger off, Neo once again almost approached her before once more backing down like a coward.
That night Neo thought she could talk to Ruby on her way to her dorm room, hyping herself up for in her mind. She could do this, she could do this, she could do this... and she turned around and retreated once again.
Afterwards she sat in the hall way and sadly ate the cookies herself. Self loathing was also a new experience for Neo.
"Yang's gonna be upset."
Neo looked up from eating her too much to see Blake. She felt her stomach drop.
"She wanted to check up on you." Blake explained "Since you haven't tried to pull anything on her."
Neo was very stiff at this moment. She hated appearing vulnerable.
"Relax. I know a thing or two about this kinda mess." Blake said "Yang isn't actually gonna be angry at you. If you want I could set something up for you two."
Neo's frozen face melted into distain. She didn't like pity.
"Fine, have it your way. Just remember that if you don't ask her out someone else will. Everyone else is just scared of Yang and that won't last forever."
Neo stared intently at Blake's face. She must have something to gain from this. They weren't friends so there must be a reason that Blake wants to help her.
"It makes me feel good when I make someone else happy." Blake shrugged "Not everyone gets joy from being rude and unhelpful."
Blake walked away and Neo sat there another moment before returning to her room.

The Day after that Neo walks out of her dorm only to be immediately tackled.
Before she can register what is happening Neo is in a dark room with a light shining in her face and Yang standing over her.
"So little miss cradle robber, you want my baby sister?" The blond asked standing firm over the smaller girl "You think your good enough?"
Neo just blinked waiting for her brain to catch up.
"Next question! This isn't a prank on me is it? If you use Ruby for that I will personally strangle you with your intestines."
Neo slowly shook her head no.
Yang got her face real close to Neo, staring deeply into her eyes. Neo hasn't been truly scared of Yang up until this point. A lot of new sensations for her this week. Slowly, Yang's eyes shifted from red to their usual lilac.
"Awesome!" Yang said cheerfully as she stood up to her full height. "Good luck with that!"
Yang walked off, leaving a confused and fairly scared Neo behind.
Neo slowly walked out of the closet that she was apparently thrown into.
"It's you?"
Neo's head whipped around to see the source of her problems and object of her affections, Ruby Rose. Neo was either blushing of paling she couldn't tell which.
"So uh... I know why Yang pulls people into there." Ruby scratched the back of her head "Anyone who ever wants to ask me out goes through that."
Neo's head, heart and stomach all didn't know what was happening and they all had different reactions to it.
"Sorry I didn't notice earlier." Ruby said sheepishly "I don't really think about romance all that much. I should probably give you an answer..."
Neo seemed to lose her ability to inhale.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
