The Leaf Village could not be more prosperous. After the Hero of the Leaf, Sasuke Uchiha defeated Kaguya along with his partners Sai and Sakura, he was given the title of Hokage for his efforts and his victories on the battlefield. The Rokudaime Hokage, Sasuke Uchiha had driven the leaf to prosperity and everlasting peace across the Elemental Nations. But this isn't the Naruto story you all know. Of course, that is plain to see. So what happened to Naruto? Well, in this universe, Naruto is not exactly the stellar and mighty shinobi that he truly is. Naruto, in this universe, is frightened of shinobi. He fears them because of what they did to him when he was a child. Always being beaten with fists and feet, kunai and swords, and tortured for harboring the very thing that destroyed the Leaf years ago. As his fear grew for the Ninja, so did his hatred for them. While Sarutobi wanted to see Naruto as a ninja of the Leaf, he could not deny the boys fear and hatred towards the Ninja Corps. He knew because of this, that Naruto could not be a Ninja, for fear that his emotions would be hurt even more. So, Sarutobi pardoned Naruto from becoming a Ninja. The Boy didn't need to be a weapon. What he needed to be, was a child.
Naruto, because of his traumatic life as a child, began to regress as a way to gain back the years lost. His regression started slowly. He would get these tics where he had to suck his thumb or he would have a lisp. Until gradually, it became so frequent that Naruto eventually slipped into a regressed state of mind. The Third tried to get him some help, but because of the trauma and the strength of the regression, there was no way to help Naruto, besides letting him act like a baby. At first, Sarutobi took care of the poor boy, but he knew that he couldn't do it forever. So he did something to help Naruto. He placed him in an orphanage and told the staff and everyone working in the orphanage to always treat Naruto as if he were an infant. Always. And so, Naruto has pretty much lived his life as a baby, in the orphanage. He had his own nursery and his own crib. He would be fed in a highchair and fed baby food and foods that could be easily eaten by babies. He wore diapers, slept in a crib, and played with toys specifically made for babies. He mainly spent his days playing in his nursery and he never really talked with anyone except the staff, as most of the children were assholes to him. While the dream of being the Hokage was out of the window for Naruto, there was one dream that he had though. And that was to have someone adopt him. A mommy and a daddy. Hopefully.
Luckily for Naruto, today was his lucky day as right now, two people were downstairs, filling out the necessary paperwork to adopt Naruto. And they were....
