Unfortunately, Teddiursa is just too injured and weak to fight anymore. After a few more tackles from Nidoran, your starter stops moving. You can tell she’s still breathing, but she’s clearly unconscious.
“No...” you murmur. “Teddiursa...”
In contrast to your despair, Nidoran cries out in happiness, and Nidorina joins her with a triumphant roar. The younger sister happily hops over to her sibling, but then she gasps as she notices that her sister caught you. She rears up on her hind legs to get a closer look at the tiny human in her sister’s clutches, and she quickly adopts an amazed expression. Nidorina smiles and holds you out to the younger Pokemon, who sniffs at you and examines you closely.
Meanwhile, you’ve lost the motivation to do anything except stare back at Nidoran. It seems like all hope is lost. Your starter was easily defeated in her very first battle, and you’ve been snatched up by a giant wild Pokemon, leaving you at her mercy—and the mercy of her little sister. There’s a very real possibility that these Pokemon will take the opportunity to eat you, or torture you, or both, especially since you attacked the younger sister and tried to catch her. It all feels hopeless.
But then, you look at the unconscious form of Teddiursa lying nearby, and feel some sudden courage well up in you. What would she think if she saw you acting depressed like this? You can’t give up. You’re a trainer now, and your Pokemon partner relies on you to be a good, brave leader. You have to keep fighting, both for yourself, and for Teddiursa.
You look back and forth between the two giant Pokemon and finally speak up. “Hey!” you shout, though your voice shakes. “I... I’m very sorry for attacking you, Nidoran. I’m a new trainer, and Teddiursa just joined me, and I simply wanted us to become stronger by battling you a bit. I was also hoping you’d like to join us. We didn’t want to hurt you or anything. So, please... both of you, can you please let me go and help my friend?”
The two rodents’ ears twitch as you talk. They clearly hear you, and they also understand you, as they start contemplating what you said. They talk quietly to each other in their own language for a bit, then Nidorina looks down at you.
