Try to Decipher the Pictographs (Success)

"Oh thank God," you thought as you slowly plodded towards a stone bench by the slab. Lowering yourself onto the seat with a grateful sigh, you looked over the pictographs adorning the slab before you.

There appeared to be three series of frames, all arranged around a central figure marked with what appeared to be a crown.

The first series showed the figure descending a staircase. The path looked narrow and winding, and was quite long. Occasionally the figure could be seen dining and speaking with what appeared to be a gigantic spider. Nothing seemed to indicate the spider was a threat; there was even a scene that looked like the figure bouncing a small spider on their knee while the big one laughed.

The figure looked bigger and bigger in each scene, and the meals were definitely growing in size. Possibly frequency as well, as there was less of a path shown between each subsequent meal. The final frame showed a semi-deflated sphere spread out on the floor, with a crowned spider mark upon it.

The second series again showed the figure traversing a staircase. This time, however, the staircase appeared shorter, and the subsequent path was nowhere near as narrow or convoluted. The figure was shown dining with people who had wings in place of arms. The bird people appeared to be stuffing food in the mouth of the central figure, laughing while doing so.

Once again, the figure appeared rounder and rounder after each meal. At one point, the bird people tried to carry the figure in flight, but were unable to, the obvious indication being the figure was too heavy. The now fairly round figure was shown waddling through a door in the final frame.

You had almost looked away before seeing that there was a new mark upon the figure. This time, however, it was a winged crown.

The third series showed a very short staircase, and a very broad and short path. The dining companions this time were centaurs and deer headed people, both clothed in white and gold. There appeared to only be a single dining sequence, and just like the bird scene, the figure's companions seemed to be stuffing them silly.

Wider and wider the figure grew, and the latter scenes showed the centaurs and deer pulling the figure in a cart or chariot, the figure eating all the while. The last few panels showed the now blobbish figure lumbering towards a door, their slow speed indicated by the multiple frames and slow gaining of ground in each. Was the figure exhausted? It looked like it was wiping the sweat off its brow.

And sure enough, there was a new mark on the figure, an antlered centaur wearing a crown.

"If I'm reading this right, there's three paths I can take," you chewed thoughtfully. "Wait, chewed?"

Only now did you realize that you'd been eating the snacks in your bag, the smell of fresh baking driving your unnaturally enhanced appetite to new heights. Your faced reddened as you put your remaining treats back into your backpack for later.

Looking down the staircase, the path seems to split ahead. Which road do you take?
