This choice: He was human...And married! • Go Back...Chapter #9He was human...And married! by: Mr.Domino As the new world swam into focus, Eugene immediately noticed that they were no longer in the black 'level select' void...Nor were they back in the dorm. Instead he was standing in the foyer of clearly new house. It was small, but comfortably so. There was a flight of stairs that headed upwards to a small landing with three doors, while openings on either side led to two empty rooms, one of which connected to what looked like the kitchen. There was a partially open door at the end of the foyer, a bathroom, and there appeared to be a door on the stairs as well, though it was closed and either led to a closet or a basement.
The walls of the house were bright white, unadorned by any paint or pictures, and indeed the entire house was empty save for a forest of cardboard boxes of varying size that had 'Kitchen', 'Living Room', 'Bathroom', etc written on them with heavy black marker. There was a small couch that looked slightly threadbare sitting in what he could only assume was supposed to be the living room, looking more like it had simply been tossed in there instead of carefully placed. Out of one of the windows he could see that wherever this house was, it was in a suburb or possibly a gated community, and there was a large moving truck parked in front of what looked like a two car garage.
All in all, it was a pretty decent house, much better than his cramped dorm room or the tiny apartment that Eugene and his mom had shared for years before he'd gone off to college.
But as his visual inspection of the local area had ended, Eugene was aware of two furry creatures in front of him. One was a almost glowingly gold-furred retriever, dark brown eyes wide, ears raised and it's dark nose wet as it's head twisted and turned in every direction as the dog took in the new environment.
Next to the dog was a large, almost fat black and white catthat was in an equal state of observation and distress, it's smaller ears pressed flat and back agaisnt it's skull, tiny fanged mouth agape and it's deep green eyes wider than Eugene had thought possibly as a cable-like tail twitched and wiggled as the cat was clearly attempting to not be overwhelmed.
Both animals had an equal chance of being either Peter, Judy or Lindsey.
"The lady did say things would be randomized..." Eugene said, but then his own eyes went wide and a hand flew to his mouth as he discovered that he was... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
