Selene had just beaten the Pokemon League and became the first Champion of Alola after a passionate battle with Professor Kukui. That night, every Trial Captain and Kahuna in Alola partied their worries away. The Alola region would be entering a new age, led by a young and powerful Trainer.
The legendary Tapu Koko had obviously taken notice of this, and knew what it had to do. It had long been passed down that the king or queen of Alola would be bestowed great power unlike anyone or anything else. But the age of kings and queens had long since passed, and the legend faded. However, Tapu Koko still knew its duty. It would bestow this power unto the Alola region's newest Champion, Selene, the closest thing there was to royalty.
Late at night, once most of the guests had fallen asleep, Selene went for a walk outside in the forest near Iki Town. There, the tween girl met face to face Tapu Koko, seemingly waiting for her.
"We've met before... at the start of my journey... Have you come to congratulate me?" Selene whispered under her breath. "I... I wanted to thank you for this Z-ring... It's helped me a lot..."
The Tapu simply nodded, unable to use telepathy to communicate. It continued to stare until it completed its final judgement of character. Without warning, a bolt of lightning shot from Tapu Koko's hands, hitting Selene in an instant! The young girl fell to the ground, not sure what just happened. She didn't feel like she was in pain though, she felt... powerful! Various visions bled into her mind, she saw herself growing extremely tall, or shrinking smaller than a seashell. She saw herself able to grow and shrink others as well, not just people, but objects too. Did Tapu Koko bestow these size changing powers on her...?
Selene stood up moments later, the shock wearing off. But the legendary protector of Melemele Island was nowhere to be seen.
"...?"
The female Pokemon Trainer wondered what this surge of energy running through her meant. So she decided to test it out...
