Aly, as usual, was laying in bed. In truth, as per her doctor order’s she was more than cleared to leave her bed and do some light exercises but, between the pampering and the food given to her by her parents, the girl had no real intention of wasting time on working out.
Still, the continuous meals and the lack of physical activity was affecting her, as a soft layer of pudge had started to cover her entire self. If she had looked at her reflection in the mirror she would have seen that her toned stomach was no more, having grown rather soft and with a bit of a jiggle in it already, while the hint of a double chin had begun to make itself notice under her chin.
But Aly, lost in the pleasure of eating and doing nothing all day long, didn’t even feel the need to leave her comfort, not even for a minute.
Lynn and Rick were both enthusiastic about the results although, they shared a different vision of how things had to proceed from that point forward. Lynn had just brought lunch to their daughter and, after making sure that she had started eating her meal, she had left her daughter alone, returning in the kitchen were Rick was waiting for her.
“Listen Lynn, we’ve got to talk.”
“What about?”
As Lynn replied to her husband, she didn’t stop working, checking the oven to be sure that the next set of pastries and dessert to be sent to Aly as a post lunch snack were almost ready.
“It’s about Aly. Look, I agreed with you to let her put on a few pounds, just enough to stop her gymnastic career. And we’ve done that. We should now focus on keeping her at this level.
You, instead, are seemingly invested in having her gain even more…”
Lynn, turned around, facing her husband, staring him deeply into his eyes.
“I…You’re right. From tomorrow we will start containing.”
Rick, happy about being the one who had won the conversation, for once, hugged his wife lovingly.
“I know you want only what’s best for her. I love you…”
“Love you too…”
As they separated and Rick went back to his studio to see if there were any last requests from his office, Lynn stood there silently watching her husband walking away.
‘Yes, Rick. I love her with all my heart.
That is why I’ll have her put on a few more pounds before considering stopping.’
In truth, Lynn had grown rather attracted by the idea of overfeeding her daughter.
Aly had always been a good girl who listened to her motherly advices, and yet as soon as she found out about that blasted gymnastic career she had started to make her own decisions on life. That, in Lynn’s eyes, was the worst thing that a daughter could do, especially one at such a young age.
What, in her mind, had started as a way to keep her from hurting herself, was becoming a way to control her daughter behavior and to make sure that she would have listened to her mother.
Plus, it was rather fun seeing how blindly Alexandra kept following whatever she said to her.
A sudden ringing sound within the kitchen made Lynn return into herself as she quickly opened her oven and took out the pan of thick chocolate chip cookies, pouring them into a bowl to cool off. As Lynn looked at the clock, she realized that not even half an hour had passed and, deciding to give another half hour of time to her girl to finish up lunch, before bringing her the next snack, she turned and took a small plastic bottle from a cabinet, taking it out from the place where it was hidden.
As she turned the plastic bottle within her hands, she quickly scanned once more what was written on the cover.
‘Bulk Up Powder. Use only if coupled with intense exercise. Do not exceed two tablespoon per day. If overdosed, may cause drowsiness, slowed metabolism, increase in hunger, weight gain.
Yes, Aly… trust in your mom. Keep chowing down what I bring you…’
As she quickly scooped up four large spoonful’s, she dumped them all into one of the milkshakes she had prepared for her daughter post lunch snack. As she mixed the shake, making sure that the powder was absorbed by it, she made to place the powder back where she had taken it, but as she was doing that she eyed the second milkshake that was still waiting on the table.
Grinning, Lynn took another four spoonful’s and repeated the process spiking also the second one, before placing the container back where she had hidden it from her husband eyes. Then, returning to the oven, she quickly took out a pie that had been cooking in there, as she left it on the counter to cool off. Already she was going to take the tray, with both the bowl of cookies and the two milkshakes to her daughter, when she saw Rick returning with a scowled expression.
Leaving the tray where it was, as she moved closer to him.
“Rick? Anything wrong?”
“You could say that. My boss in an ass.”
“What? What do you mean, dear?”
As she waited, she saw Rick go to the counter and, in anger, slam down one of his fist against it, the loud thud resounding within the kitchen. Rick, feeling calmer now that he had released some of his anger, turned toward Lynn with a sad frown on his face.
“My Boss has landed a big contract with an important client.
All request for time off have been cancelled. I’ve got to go back to the office.
Effect immediately.
And I don’t know if we’ll be able to close it by Christmas. I’m so sorry, dear.”
Before he could say anything more, she hugged him closely, as she calmed him, assuring him that she didn’t faulted him even for a minute, and that, although it wasn’t going to be the same without him, he was only doing what he could to provide for them.
“So don’t worry, dear, I couldn’t think any less of you. If anything, I’m even prouder of all the sacrifices you go through to sustain us. So you won’t join us for Christmas, but at dinner…?”
“Afraid not. The whole team has to go on site to perform the requested modifications. He told me that we will leave tomorrow. So, I’ll have to pack this evening as I return from the office.”
After sharing another kiss, as Lynn watched her husband leave the house, a frown initially appeared on her face but, as she realized that she was going to be alone with Aly up to Christmas, a grin rose on her face.
“Oh, Aly…almost the entire month together…I’ll make sure you are well fed.”
Still, as she composed herself, she grabbed the tray and went to her daughter room, as soon as she entered she saw that Aly had completely wiped any trace of her meal for some time already, as she was currently laying down watching tv. As soon as she saw her mom, though, she began to slowly move herself to a seating position, having grown used to receive these snack before and after her main meal times.
“Hey Mom…”
“Hey sweetie. How was your lunch?”
“Oh, it was delish. Thanks for letting me on this diet. It’s awesome.”
“Good. Here, this is your after lunch snack. Enjoy it, dear.”
Alexandra, although she had just eaten a double combo bacon burger meal, she still began to munch away at the cookies with abandon. She wasn’t exactly sure why but, as of late, she was feeling as if it took longer to satisfy her hunger. Still, surrounded by so much good food, she ignored the issue for the moment, as she began to focus only on what she had just received. As Lynn backed away, though, Alexandra stopped her suddenly, just as she drank down the first milkshake.
“Woah, Mom! These are so good! Could you make me a couple more? Please?”
“Oh, alright…But only since you’re asking so nicely. I’ll be right back.”
As her mom left, Alexandra began drinking from the second milkshake, stopping only when she was at almost half of it, as she turned back on the cookies. Although unaware of it, her stomach still bulged out in front of her as it filled up with food. Still, apart from scratching it unconsciously from time to time, the girl still kept her focus on her food and on the television show she was watching.
As she was watching she tried to change channel but, somehow the other channels didn’t seem to be working still. Tuning her tv back to the previous channel she resumed watching Food Network, although seeing all those tasty recipes on screen almost made her wish she could taste them.
Re-doubling her efforts on the cookies, she quickly polished them off, and, just as she started drinking up the remaining shake, her door opened revealing her mother coming back as promised. Only, she wasn’t bringing only the milkshakes Aly had asked for.
“Here you go, sweetie, three more shakes, I’ve made one more to finish up the container since it was just a handful left in it. Oh, also, I brought you the snacks for this later afternoon.
I’ll leave them here, on your bedpost.”
With that, Lynn left the tray she had been carrying which contained an entire blueberry pie and quite a stack of brownies, piled one atop the other. Alexandra, as she handed the empty shake cup to her mom, began to lay down against her pillow once more, slowly drinking her shakes, as she started to feel, finally, sated.
Although she couldn’t stop herself from eyeing the treats that her mom had brought her, from time to time.
“Ok, sweetie. Enjoy your rest. If you need anything, call me on the phone. See you later.”
“Thanks…*URP!*… Mom.”
As Lynn returned to the kitchen, to have a quick, light, lunch herself, she already was deciding what other snack she could bring to her daughter as a mid-afternoon snack. As she ate her light meal, she had another thought.
Since Rick was going to be leaving the very next day, maybe she could…
