You see hear look down and tilt her head in confusion. You hear her mutter the words “What the” as she bends over and picks you up, bringing you in front of her face.
She gives you mean and intimidating stare as she thinks about what to say. You would love to savor this moment, being held by Tigress, but in all reality, you’re scared for your life. After all, she could think you’re an intruder and end you on the spot. Finally, she breaks the cold silence.
“Who are you?” Those three words were meant to be a question, but the way she said them pierced you as if they were a command. Nervous and visibly trembling, you speak back.
“Ummm, h-hello Miss Master Tigress, uhhh, you see, I’m supposed to be here, I-I won that little contest to come up to the palace,” hopefully the tone of your voice gives her a sense of how much you need help.
“I remember hearing about that, but why are you so small?” Again, every word she says is dominant and belittling
“Uhhhhh,” you contemplate telling her the truth as you don’t want to get in trouble for touching the scrolls.
“Well!”
You decide it’s best to tell the truth, she probably already knows how you’re so small and just wants to see if you’d lie.
“ Ok, my whole life I’ve been amazed by you and your friends. And when I stepped foot into the actual Jade Palace, I could hardly keep myself from fanboying.And in the midst of my excitement, I saw those scrolls over there. Thinking about how you guys probably read them, it sent me over the edge and I just couldn’t help myself from reading one too. Then upon reading it, well, I shrunk. The scroll is actually on the ground still. I swear it was an accident Master Tigress please don’t hurt me pleeeeeaaaaaaaaase!” You summed it up the best you could and you think you did a pretty good job at it. You even revealed your obsession over the group. All that matters now is if she believes it or not.
She stares at you some more, piecing together everything you just told her. The analyzing yet powerful glare sends chills from your spine. Then, the grip she had on you loosens a little bit.
“Alright, I believe you,” she said this as if she wanted not to, “Shouldn’t go around touching other people’s stuff, especially stuff you won’t understand.” You are about to interrupt to keep apologizing but she continues talking. “I’ve read every one of these scrolls, studying them,” she walks over to the wall of scrolls, “and I don’t remember a single one about shrinking. Even worse, I don’t know a single way to make you grow back in general, much less a scroll.” These words are like a spear through your heart
“You mean, I’m stuck like this forever?” The look you give her is comparable to puppy eyes
“Possibly, but I’m sure there’s a way to fix you.” She bends down and picks up the scroll, scanning all over it. “Ummmm, are you sure this is the scroll you read?” This is the first time the tone in her voice turned from commanding to pure curiosity.
“Uh, yea, 100%. Why?”
“It’s cause well, there are zero words in here, it’s completely blank.”
This shocks you completely, “What?!”
“It’s true,” she turns the scroll around to face you and behold, nothing. All you can see is your reflection the shiny paper gives off. “It’s ok, there’s been some scrolls like that before, so no worries.” She winds the scroll back up and puts it back into its capsule before returning it to the rack. She stands back upright, still holding you in her strong hand.
