Ruby danced out of the selection room spinning around with her water type reptile in arms.
"Yang, may I introduce you to Totodile!" Ruby said proudly holding the pokemon in her sister's face.
"What's up gater dude?" Yang asked rhetorically "This is my new pal Blake, have you met?"
Ruby lowered her new pokemon and noticed the black haired girl that Yang was talking too.
"O-oh sorry." Ruby said, her face now matching her name sake "I was just uh..."
"Excited." Blake finished for her "Most people are when they get their first pokemon."
"I see you chose an over active pokemon." Weiss spoke up making her presence known. "Picking what reflects you?"
"I just think he's neat!" Ruby said hugging the blue pokemon.
The intercom buzzed again "Weiss Schnee you are to report to the seletion room and choose a starter pocket monster."
"Finally." Weiss said turning on her heel and going into the room.
"She was asking about you." Yang told her sister as a sly smile appeared on the blonds face.
"She was?" Ruby asked her Totodile still hanging inbetween her arms. "Why?"
Blake and Yang shared an amused look.

Weiss walked into the selection room confident that she'd pick a fire type, their naturally flashy nature lends itself well to performance.
"Hello Professor." Weiss greeted "I am prepared to make my decision."
"I should hope so." Goodwitch said "Your choices are Bulbasaur, Mudkip and Torchic."
Weiss paused. She studied for this moment as she's studies for everything and she knew the starter rotation system. Each time a starter of a specific type was picked a different pokemon of the same type was selected. Knowing what the rotation is she knew that the Bulbasaur had gone unpicked by four trainers in a row.
Biting her lip Weiss reconsidered her options.

The heiress returned to the common area where her friend and new acquaintances were waiting.
"I thought you were going to pick a fire type." Blake said looking at the Bulbasaur Weiss had returned with.
"I simply changed my mind when I saw that this was the highest quality pokemon they had." Weiss answered snootily.
"Weiss we should battle!" Ruby said excitedly "We both just got pokemon!"
"Our licenses aren't technically valid yet you dolt." Weiss sighed "Besides why would you want to battle me when you clearly have the type disadvantage?"
"I don't think they know any water or grass type attacks yet." Ruby said "I'm just excited."
Ruby was practically vibrating in place and Weiss rolled her eyes.
Yang and Blake started to whisper amongst themselves.
