The island of Tred (as its denizens called it) wasn't a paradise where elves, dwarves and humans intermingled with each other all the time, breaking out into joyous song whenever the mood struck them. For the most part, the members of each race had their own portion of the island and stayed there. There was, however, more cooperation and considerably less animosity between the races then existed on the continent of Atore. There were rarely any interspecies disputes and, when there were, there were legal mechanisms in place to handle them that everyone respected. The island was ruled by a Council consisting of members of each race on the island. The Council in turn was headed up by
