“I know, I’ll give it to Bailey!” Natalie said with a smile.
Bailey thought she deserved one of the rings as if Bailey hadn't offered to go to the mall with her, she wouldn't have the rings at all.
She walked inside the house and sought out her sister. She seen Zach looking through the fridge. “Yo, where’s Bailey at?” she asked in passing, looking around for her sister. “Shoot, I don’t know. Probably in her room or something”.
Of course. That should’ve been the first place she looked, Natalie thought to herself. She headed up the stairs to see Bailey finding her father outside her parent's bedroom.
“Hey Nat, what’s going on kid?” Antonio asked.
“Nothing much, just trying to find Bailey. Is she in there?”
“Yes I think I saw her enter her room a few minutes ago.”
“Okay, thanks daddy-o”
Natalie continued going the opposite way of her dad, and went straight into the room, without knocking.
Bailey was just putting her clothes in her wardrobe, when she turned around to see Natalie standing there.
"Hey sis, whatcha got there?" Bailey asked seeing the box in Natalie's hand.
"You won't believe this. Check these out." Natalie opened the box showing off the rings.
"No way! How much did they set you back?" Bailey asked confused.
“Quite the opposite! I got them for free! I went to this weird store at the mall today and the lady let me take em home!”
“Really! Well, I'm glad you finally learned of my shopping habits. ” Bailey laughed, “Let’s get them on!
Both women slipped them on their fingers, Bailey on her right ring finger, and Natalie on her left pinky. They admired them on themselves first, and then each other. Bailey walked over to her sister, and gave her a hug.
“Again, thank you for the gift sis. Now you won't believe me who asked me out." Bailey and Natalie had some girl talk until they finally heard their mother's voice calling them for dinner.
When dinner was served, and as always, the Ruiz family ate together. Even if they all ate different things, they usually all sat at the table and enjoyed the end of their days together. Everybody's days would get brought up, and when it came to Natalie’s turn, she tried be nonchalant.
"I went to the mall with them, got this cute top. I also stopped by this little old shop that I hadn't seen before, so that was neat.”
“Old shop?" Antonio interjected, “That doesn’t seem to be up your alley”.
Natalie shrugged, “I was just a little curious, since Bails take forever”.
“Well I’m glad that you’re expanding your taste Nat” Antonio laughed.

Pretty soon, everybody finished up, and headed upstairs to their rooms, but not before helping dump the trash and storing the leftovers in the freezer. That's how it usually went, as Antonio would set the table and get the dinner ingredients, and Estella would cook and serve everybody. Their kids were often left to clean-up duty as their parents went to bed up in their room.
After Natalie dried off the dishes, she headed up to her room to get ready for bed. She went into her bathroom, took her contacts out, and brushed her teeth. She even made a mud mask to wear for a little bit, just to clean her face up a bit. She scrolled through social media and texted her friends in the meantime, waiting for the mask to dry so she could wash it off.
Her phone timer finally went off, signaling that it was time for her to wash up. She did, and then got dressed, or rather undressed, for bed. She slipped her bra off, as well as her pants, to sleep in her tank top and underwear. She got into bed, and covered herself up with her blankets to get comfortable. After about 15 minutes of trying to sleep, Natalie was snoring.

After a while, the clock her wall had hit 12 a.m., midnight, and something odd happened. The ring that remained on Natalie’s pinky finger had begun to glow a dark purple-like color. It grew brighter and brighter, while Natalie continued to sleep like baby. Pretty soon, the ring had stopped getting brighter, and started to spread to Natalie’s hand, then her arm, her torso, her upper body, and finally her entire body.
Meanwhile, in Bailey's room
Bailey's ring had the same effect on her as it did her sister , as she was soon covered in some sort of glowing purple cocoon, which didn't wake her in the slightest.
