Passing by the park, you spy the town library rearing past the hills, a granite block with murals of local art set against the bright blue sky. Something about such a panoramic setting veers your step towards it, possessed suddenly by a spark of interest.
'It's been two years,' you think. 'And Ive never once studied or taken books out from the library.'
You step inside, and head upstairs. Upstairs it is quiet and far less bright, the shelves lined with adult books and rows of computer desks. A young woman is browsing the movies section with her two children. An old man is on a computer, growling at the news. Further up, numerous older college kids sit by the windows studying.
You slip into the silence, respectful of its sombreness and imagine yourself equally focused, staring at the Mysteries section. As your gaze sweeps across numerous spines, you see a familiar figure sitting with her back to you in one of the studying cubicles.
