The tiny girl was one of a million Microputians (and a few hundred Lilliputians) that lived on a vast and cold desert. This terrifying and desolate wasteland was actually the marble counter top in the house of a Prodigian family, the Helners. The family includes Julie, the middle-aged wife; Mark, the husband; and Jennifer, the college-age daughter. This family is actually quite progressive, and have just as many Brobby and Gulliverian friends as others their age. Jennifer also knows a few Lilliputians and even Microputians online. However, none of them are aware of the colony in their own kitchen: the only people with a hope of noticing the tinies are Gulliverians, and they tend to stay in the safe zones inside the house. Meanwhile, the Helners remain unaware of the devastation they cause every time they place something on the kitchen island.
Food and water is surprisingly difficult to come by. The occasional bread crumb or water drop was a miles tall obstacle, crashing down like a meteor. Even if you survive, you have to quickly grab supplies and run for cover. At any moment, a massive wall will sweep the small mess away, returning the vast landscape to its bare form. During her travels, Alicia has found villages that disappear overnight, with not a single trace left. She's even reached the World's End, a massive drop that supposedly surrounds the world. And of course, the landscape changes constantly with monolithic objects crashing down and flying away. The ground regularly rumbles, but Alicia doesn't know that this is from the movement of beings that are larger than planets to her.
Today, the sunlight returns to show that the land is empty today. As Alicia sets out with her pack, she's unaware that today...
