Ah, the commissars. Devoted followers of the Empress, always at the very front of the battle, leading their women by example and fear! They are women without fear, grim and single-minded in their duties.
Then...we have Cindy
Cindy Cain, HEROINE OF THE IMPERIUM: By all accounts, Cindy Cain is a model commissar, one of the best her sector has ever seen. The Valhallan boys and girls under her command adore her, seeing her as a true paladin of the empress, always to be found where the battle is fiercest, dealing with the Empresse's enemy with a confident smile and her trusty chainblade. A woman without fear indeed!
Only, Cindy does feel fear. Indeed, she considers herself one of the biggest cowards to ever join the ranks of the dreaded Commissariat. Cindy would rather stay far away from the front lines, happy and safe within a bunker with a mug of tea in one hand and a newspaper on the other.
Sadly, the Empress, or maybe some other entity, has other plans for her. No matter how hard she tries to avoid it, danger never leaves Cindy's side, forcing her to use her wits and luck to survive the madness of the 41st millennium.
