Hours later, Dylan emerged from his bedroom. The tension in the air was thick. He hated that he had a babysitter. He took in the sight of the ravaged kitchen. He stared at the mountain of empty wrappers and containers piled high on the marble counter, his jaw dropping. He found Sophie sprawled on the couch, her belly distended from the feast she'd consumed. Her belly was putting immense pressure on the button of her jeans, ready to pop. She looked up at him with a sheepish smile, her cheeks flushed and her eyes sparkling with guilt.
"Oh, hey Dylan," she said, trying to sound casual. "Ignore that mess in the kitchen. I'll clean it up later. I got a bit hungry..."
Dylan's eyes narrowed as he took in the mess. "What the hell happened here?!"
Sophie sat up with a groan, her hand reflexively reaching to cover her bulging stomach. Her jeans creaked as she shifted her body. "I might have gone a little overboard," she admitted while stifling a burp. She'd eaten everything from the gourmet chocolates to bags of imported potato chips. In her belly were several thousand calories worth of junk food.
Dylan surveyed the scene with a mix of shock and annoyance. "A little?" he scoffed. His eyes were glued to her belly.
Sophie winced, her hand still hovering over her stomach. "I'm sorry," she mumbled. "I just couldn't help myself. It all looked so good."
Dylan's annoyance morphed into something else. A devilish glint appeared in his eye. He had an idea, a way to get back at his parents for forcing him to endure a babysitter. Sophie obviously has no self control around snacks. Dylan figured he could use that to his advantage, getting her to eat more and more. And maybe he could being her snacks at school so she will plump up even faster. Sophie will get huge in no time and realize she can't babysit for his family anymore lest she turn into a blimp. She will quit and Dylan can be home alone again!
"You know what, Sophie?" he said, his tone shifting to one of mischief. "I totally get it. You're not the first person to get a little too excited about our snack selection. But here's the thing, I don't blame you. My parents just buy some of the best crap! And a lot of it!"
He took a step closer to her, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "How about this? Since you obviously have a taste for the good life, I'll make you a deal. I'll bring snacks from home to school. Maybe if you give me your locker combo, I'll stash them in there. You can have them all to yourself. That way you don't have to wait until Saturday to...indulge."
Sophie's eyes widened. "But why would you do that?" she asked, her voice laced with suspicion. "What's the catch?"
Dylan shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. He needed a good excuse to keep his future fat babysitter fed. "I just think it's a little awkward, you know, having a babysitter who goes to the same school as me. If anyone found out, they'd totally make fun of me for being 14 years old and still needing a babysitter. So, just keep it between us, and we can both enjoy the perks. You get snacks, and my friends don't find out I have a babysitter."
Sophie eyed him skeptically, her finger tracing the seam of her stretched jeans. She knew this wasn't a typical offer babysitters get, but the allure of acces to the Castellanos' snack pantry was too tempting to resist. She nodded slowly. "Okay, I won't say anything," she agreed, her voice tentative. "Just keep the snacks coming!"
Monday morning rolled around and Sophie approached her locker. The girl still felt sluggish and bloated from her binge a few days ago. She approached her locker to see if Dylan held up his end of the bargain.
Locker 513. Combo: 42-17-33
If he were honest, the boy would have filled the locker with treats from his house when he had arrived to school that morning. And to Sophie's pleasant surprise, she found her locked was filled with...
