Throughout the past decade, Peter Parker had been involved in many multiversal escapades where he needed to team up with the spider-men of other universes. Some were him, others weren't. Some were people he knew while others were complete strangers. They were all connected though by the great web of life that held the Spider-Verse together.
However, one day something strange happened. Perhaps all the multiverse jumping had caused a glitch in the great web, maybe Madame Webb wasn't paying attention one day and something went amiss, maybe it was just a cosmic entity playing tricks.
Whatever the reason, Peter Parker's chosen soul and that of another Spider-Person had gotten caught up in a universal mixup. Their bodies would stay in their dimensions but the souls within them would wake up elsewhere.
