"Can you listen in on phone conversations?" Curious, I asked.
Ty rolled his eyes, frowning. "Remember that weekend I seemed to have had a mental breakdown last month?"
I nodded. "Yeah, we were all worried about you; I thought you were having some kind of reoccurring nightmare."
"That was when I discovered I can pick up phone and radio signals." Softly, Ty explained. "Thousands of voices all talking at once, giving me a nightmare migraine. I had to learn fast how to zone them out."
I gulped at that. "I better learn fast too before I start picking up on every camera in the area."
Ty sighed. "Just keep your thoughts inward." Calmly, he replied. "Try not to think of people in general but of those close to you such as our family."
"Mom should be making dinner right about now." Pausing, I muttered.
Then, as if I were daydreaming, I saw myself stirring something in a pot on the stove. No, it was mom cooking dinner. I shook my head and the image vanished from my mind and I saw Ty again as he was opening the door to my bedroom.
"As far as anyone else knows, I am a deaf boy and you are a blind girl." Serious, Ty said. "Otherwise, our family will think we had lost it."
"Like we thought you had lost it years ago." Ruefully, I said.
Ty shrugged. "Like I said, I'm over it."
I sighed. "Anything else I should know?"
Ty nodded. "Keep your Google glass shades charged and try not to let your mind wander too much."
mom's voice rang out from down the hall, "kids, dinner!"
Ty and I turned to each other and sighed before walking to the dinning room.
