"I think I'll use this spell on you," said Professor Honeydew.
"What?!" gasped Melona?
"Not for anything bad, Melmel!" said Honeydew. She placed a hand on Melona's shoulder. "Look, this way you won't be able to abuse the spell, and we won't need to do anything more invasive, right?" She smiled. "Memory charms can get all risky."
"But--" Melona paused. "It was an accident, though! I didn't even mean to cast it."
"I know," said Honeydew.
"And you said it yourself, I didn't even do anything bad with it," said Melona. She hated it when Professor Honeydew cast charms on her in class, and this was a charm so dangerous it needed to be destroyed.
"I know," said Honeydew. She almost looked remorseful. "But like, this spell isn't dangerous because it always hurts people, Melmel. It's just very powerful and easy to use." She looked Melona in the eyes, and Mel winced, ready to be on the receiving end of a trance. Instead, Honeydew shook her head sadly. "I don't like messing with peoples' minds permanently, you know, but Mel, you've kinda turned yourself into a weapon. 18-year-olds shouldn't be trusted with this kind of power. Believe me when I say that I think this is the best way of handling it. I cast the spell and you leave with your memories intact."
"Professor..." Melona closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
