“Honey, this doll is too old for you. We need to throw it away.” She picked up Hilda and threw her into an outdoor garbage can. “Aww, but I love her!” Heidi shouted. “You l-l-love m-m-me?” Helping Hilda replied. Your mom walked back into the house, you following her in. Heidi looked to make sure neither of you are looking, reached into the trash can and pulled Hilda out. “I won’t let you be thrown away, Hilda. You’ll be safe with me!” She put Hilda into her back pack, then went back into the house, before sneaking upstairs and putting her into her toy chest.
A week later
You get up out of bed, walking past Heidi’s room to see that she has what looks like a brand new doll. The doll is spotless, with shiny hair, a beautiful dress, and fair skin. “I’m so happy I kept you, Hilda! You’re my best friend!” Heidi said. “Hilda? Is that the same doll?!” You say out loud. Heidi giggles. “Yep! I told you all she needed was love!” Hilda turned to look at you. They way the blank eyes stared into your soul sent a shiver down your spine. “Geez, even in its new state, that thing is still creepy.” Heidi looks offended. “Hilda’s not creepy! Don’t listen to him, Hilda, he’s just my mean brother.” Hilda turns to look at you again, before saying “Mean brother.” You shiver before heading out the door.
