Chapter #5

120 Days of Kinomoto

In the few short years since its establishment, the Great Kaiju Academy had garnered a peerless reputation worldwide for its top-of-the-line standards in terms of kaiju education and breeding. Along with a comprehensive catalogue of subjects covering all grades from preschool to college, along with dozens of locations all across the globe, the Academy had quickly established itself as one of the prime movers and shakers of the 21st century. All of the staff had been specially selected for the daunting task of teaching the next generation of towering beasts, along with meditating the tensions that would inevitably come between human and kaiju students. Above all else, no one was to ever forget the modus operandi of the school - to bridge the gap between kaiju and man and forge a new bond between them that would stand the test of time.

Kinomoto would beg to differ on those last few points, but she kept her opinions to herself. The Academy had adopted a policy of polite mutual disagreement among its staff, to ensure that everyone was focused on keeping on top of their curriculums and work plans. She was more than willing to honor it if it meant that she could continue her work in peace.

All who had the honor of meeting Kinomoto in person would agree that out of all the kaiju they knew, she was by far the most stunning beast they had ever laid their eyes upon. Her skin was completely flawless, with not a single blemish daring to show itself before her. Every curve was pronounced in just the right places, with not a single one being out of place. Her eyes shone with unrelenting vigor and youth far beyond what her age would suggest, and her hair flowed through the air like the soothing waters of a tranquil river.

She was, in a word, perfection made manifest, and she was completely shameless about showing it off. Her two-string golden chain bikini was far from being what the average human would call appropriate work attire, but for a kaiju, anything went, no matter the situation. There was far too little cloth to spare, and far too few elements to combat against, to care much about covering anything other than the bare minimum. It was simply a fact of kaiju life. The more modest kaijus - those who could afford to be, anyway - were always the ones who made no secret about their sympathies to humanity, something that Kinomoto would never understand for as long as she still breathed.

For how impressive Kinomoto herself was, her office in contrast was nothing special. Since the Academy was fortunate to have access to a considerable level of funds and influence that would make a first-world nation blush, enough where they were able to construct this entire campus by carving it straight out of the mountains of Kaiju Island, the staff had the unprecedented privilege among kaijus of having their own personal space for themselves. Most of them took liberal advantage of this, setting up all kinds of elaborate props and decorations for themselves. A number of their offices resembled a dragon's abode or a life-size replica of a thriving metropolis more than an actual workstation. She, on the other hand never cared for any of the gaudy trappings that her colleagues like to indulge in, opting for a simple desk fashioned out of old skyscrapers and some cupboards.

Really, all Kinomoto ever needed was a nice, quiet place where she could store all the humans that she desired.

She always preferred to keep a collection of them in a special little container by her desk, to service her needs during the waning hours of the day. The container itself was nothing special, just a simple airtight glass jar with a black lid placed firmly on the top. There were a few holes poked in at the lid, just enough that her captives were able to breath, but at times she liked to plug up the holes with her fingers, cutting off what little air they were allowed to have for themselves. The way they would struggle and trash against, begging for mercy as they had the life slowly chocked out of them, was a small pleasure that she allowed for herself during the working hours, when there was only so much time for indulgences.

However, she wasn't one to simply leave her pleasure for such measly stretches of time. In-between her duties, when she had more room to breathe, there was always a moment to spare for her collection, time to think of new ways to make their suffering as prolonged and pronounced as she could. Whether through applied pressure with her finger on their frail bodies, or simply dangling them just above her gaping maw, it was always important for her to wring as much pleasure out of her collection as she could. Really, if you weren't willing to get intimate with them, then what was the point of bringing them here in the first place?

More importantly, Kinomoto was never one to pass up a chance to reinforce the unyielding truth of this world. It was the inevitable fate of any human that dared to naively come before a kaiju without proper respect to be condemned to hell itself. Humans were the rightful property of kaiju, to be used as they pleased. It was not her fault that her other colleagues didn't quite see eye-to-eye on this point. It was simply reality.

Still, for obvious reasons, she was always careful to take them out where no prying eyes would be able to find them, when the entrance to her office was locked tight as could be. Her actions were completely against the stringent regulations set forth by the Great Kaiju Academy, after all, and would like lead to a penalty and a demotion from her position as Principal of the Japan Branch. The school did have a reputation to maintain. Still, she had a feeling that given her reputation among kaiju-kind, it wouldn't be long before this slight blemish on her record was forgiven.

Hm. It was getting about time for her to begin with the proceedings in earnest. Without delay, she tapped on the top, and the mites immediately started to fight amongst themselves. It was always amusing, watching how eagerly humans were willing once you'd conditioned them just right. Before long, they had brought down one of their own, and held him up high, the poor fool dead to the world as he awaited whatever torment was in store for him.

Kinomoto drank in the sorry display with pure relished. It was one thing to handle them personally - it would be all too easy for her to pin them all down her index finger and press softly down on their frail bodies - but it was another thing entirely to get them to turn on each other through your presence alone. That level of control, of power, it was exactly the sort of quality that made one worthy of being a true kaiju. Destruction was but one part of the equation, one that too many believed was all that was necessary for a proper rampage was but an appetizer in preparation for the main course. For now, though, the time for delay was long past; Kinomoto was curious to see how this one would do while her nail was dragging his frail body across the surface.

Just as she was about to open the jar and pluck up the offering, however, a loud siren broke her out of her entrancement. Quickly, she took the container and hastily placed it back in one of the cupboards out back, not bothering to take note of the screams as they were once more consigned to darkness. She would have to withhold on indulging herself for another, more convenient time. One of the faculty, or perhaps one of the students, had business they wished to discuss with.

Hopefully, it wasn't one of the humans that had recently been admitted into the Academy. It was always difficult to put up a pleasant facade while they were around, mocking them with their blase attitudes towards a kaiju's true might. She may not have liked having to show deference to the as they scurried along her halls, but she was willing to tolerate it for now. It may have been Academy policy to treat both humans and kaijus with equal respect, but no one would mind if she happened to overlook a few incidents here and there. Some "accidental" near-crushes here and there, or perhaps one of the kaijus dangling a hapless human over their mouths, would serve as a stern reminder of their place.

Perhaps, among the wretched lot, she could even find a few measly specks with some potential as kaijus. Before she took on the position, she had heard whispers about the miraculous technology that the Academy had under its wings, of a device that had the power to instantly transform any human into a kaiju themselves. She had immediately dismissed them as juvenile fantasies until she saw it for herself. Witnessing that power, seeing how it had instantly turned what was once a mere human into a true, towering beast, had been a shock to her systems, but a welcome one. Knowing that such an invention existed, it would be a shame to have their talents wasted as mere humans.

Already, she'd had the pleasure of seeing several of these newly forged kaijus become beasts of destruction unto their own. Watching them grow into true terrors had been some of the proudest moments of her short, yet already illustrious career. Hopefully, she could ensure that this work would continue onwards for the foreseeable future.

Another siren blared out once more. Ah, she should probably not dally in her thoughts any longer. With a quick motion, Kinomoto strides towards the door, and opened it to see in...
