With the sudden flash of light, the four friends didn't have time to cover their eyes, causing them to not be able to see for a moment. As they stood there confused and disoriented, they didn't know what had happened or what was in the room with them. 'Why do my clothes feel weird?' Josh thought to himself as he felt his clothes. 'They feel like my normal clothes, but why do I feel like I'm swimming in them?' Bringing his hands up to his eyes, he tried to further along the restoration of his sight by rubbing them.
"What happened?" Emily asked, sounding confused.
"I don't..." Will started, but stopped. "What happened to my voice?" He asked, sounding panicked and confused.
The next voice caused Josh to question his own sanity. "Wait, that that's my voice!" Josh's voice answered back, not as panicked, but still confused.
Rubbing his eyes, Josh was finally able to see some shapes even though they were in silhouette. "Okay, whats..." He started, but stopped upon hearing his own voice. It seemed to be higher in pitch that he was used to speaking with.
Still struggling to get his eyesight to work, Josh could hear the others talking. "Why do you look like me?" Will's voice called out, but seemed to have a different intonation than he was used to him speaking with. "Why am I in Will's body?" Will's voice cried out with the sound of desperation in his voice.
Blinking several times, Josh was finally able to see once again. Looking around he saw Emily, Will and... himself? However, they were wearing different clothes. Emily was wearing Jenn's clothes and they were somewhat stretched but looked comfortable. Will was wearing his clothing, but it didn't look any different since he was nearly the same height as himself. However looking over at Will wearing Emily's clothing, it ridiculous and stretched out. The jeans and t-shirt that she'd been wearing looked nearly ready to burst. Strike that, they button on the front of the jeans had already popped off leaving the body's size holding it together. 'Wait, Will, Emily, me. They only one left out is...' He thought to himself while looking down at himself. Still wearing his own clothing, but looked to be swimming in it. Looking around the other three looked to be freaking out about what happened. "Alright, stop!" He shouted with Jenn's usually angelic voice. The others stopped their talking and looked at him. With his now smaller height, he looked to be swimming in his clothes. "Who is who? I'm Josh."
"I'm Emily." Will's body answered back while crossing his arms femininely and cocking his hip to the right.
Josh brought his gaze over to his body which stood confidently, but yet awkward. "I'm Will." His body announced while looking over at Emily with disbelief.
Looking over at Emily's body, Josh pointed at her. "So through the process of elimination, you must be Jenn." Emily nodded. "Okay." Josh started while bringing his fingers up to his eyes as if to relieve a headache. Looking up through the hole, he could see the shadows starting to grow longer. "It's almost dark so we need to go somewhere safe." He told the group as he started to think about where they can go. "We can't go to my house, my family will ask too many questions."
"I live in the dorms." Will told the group. "I can't bring females and can't get in without my fingerprint."
"We can go to my house." Emily replied back to them. "It's just me living there and I live only 10 minutes from here once we get to our cars. I will bring the book with me just in case we want to try and get our bodies back."
Josh nodded his head, causing some of Jenn's hair to come loose and go into his face. Absentmindedly, he took a portion and put it behind his ear. "That sounds like a plan and can we crash there if we can't get put back in the right bodies?" He asked getting a tentative nod from her. "Great, lets head back out so that we don't get lost in the woods. Does that sound good?" They all nodded as they started their way up through the hole in the floor.
The 2-mile walk back to their vehicles started off as a pain when they all realized that their shoes weren't fitting properly and had to switch them to the proper body. Josh's feet were sliding out of his shoes and Emily's feet were too big for the shoes that she was wearing causing her to wince with pain. The remainder of the trek was done in silence as the four friends started to come to terms with their new bodies. But when they emerged from the woods, the group came face to face with a youth baseball team practicing and a group of children started to laugh at them for the way that they we're dressed. A little girl with her hair in pig-tails pointed at them. "Mommy, they're dressed funny." She said aloud while giggling.
The parents and other adults looked at them like they should be ashamed of themselves causing the four friends to quicken their pace. "My car is just over there." Josh pointed over at the Caffeinated Moose. "Do you need a ride to your cars?"
Emily and Will shook their heads. "No, we parked over at Gruff's." Emily told Josh and Jenn. Looking over at Jenn, she asked. "You know where I live, right?" Taking a moment to think, Jenn nodded her head. "Great, I will see you there."
