"Umm... Ssweetie." Jenn stuttered bringing Josh to look back at her. "I need to go back to our table and get the book." She told him while gesturing over at the table where they were sitting earlier. Looking over, Josh saw that they were gone. "Actually I think we might be a little too late." He said as he looked back at the register to see if he or the person in his life was still there, but as he got up, he nearly tripped. "What in the world." He groaned looking down to see a pair of boots that went up his thighs and had a slight heel to them. Looking back at Jenn with her shorter hair and more masculine glasses, she also seemed to be checking out her new attire. To get her attention Josh grabbed a hold of the table and have it a little shake. "Are you listening to me?" He asked seemingly breaking her concentration enough for her to look up at him.
"Huh?" She asked.
Finally getting her attention, Josh sighed and motioned over at the table where they were sitting just moments earlier. "They're gone." He said with a more forceful manner in order to get it across to her. "The book and the Yamadas are gone." Seeing the lack of concern on he face, Josh gestured once more to the empty table where they were sitting. Watching her eyes get bigger, Josh finally knew that it seemed to get across to her.
Watching Jenn get up, rather forcefully, Josh followed her over to the table. As he did, he felt his hair shift. Nonchalantly, he brushed it behind his ear not thinking too much about it. Taking in a deep breath, Jenn appeared to calm herself. "Okay, let me think." She said as everyone around them started to look at them like they were crazy. Feeling all the eyes on them, Josh and Jenn went back to their table. Sitting back at the table where they found themselves earlier, Jenn looked back and Josh and couldn't help but chuckle. "You look super cute, you know that?"
"Yeah, yeah." Josh grumbled as he took a sip of the drink in front of him. The taste of slight sweetness took him for a loop, but he didn't seem to mind it too much. Looking at the label on the side of the cup, he found the name Hina Y and Chamomile Tea. "This tea isn't too bad." He said to himself while setting the cup back down. Taking a more serious tone, he looked back over at Jenn, who seemed to have an idea. "What are we going to do darling?"
"For starters, we're going to head home." She started off and took a drink of the cup in front of her. The dark coffee didn't seem to taste too bad. "They live only a couple houses down from me and we can keep an eye on them there." Looking back up at Josh, she thought he looked kind of cute with the longer hair and the whole feminine appearance. "We can try to come over to their house to get the book back and fix this whole mess. I know that Mrs. Marshall invited us both over for their dinner on Thursday."
Josh looked back at Jenn and held his hand up for a moment, not really looking at his feminine looking nails and the diamond ring on his left hand. "Wait a minute, darling." He paused for a moment. "Did you just call your Mom, Mrs. Marshall?" He asked, hoping that he misheard.
"Wait, did I say that?" She asked while looking down at her own hands. "Wait, did you just call me darling?"
Nodding his head, Josh affirmed that is what she told him. "Wait, did I call you that?" He asked trying to figure out what is going on. "We should get going so that we can think it over and figure out what we're going to do next." He suggested as he got up and took his nearly empty cup of tea and emptied it with one gulp. Making his way over to the trash can, he placed it inside and watched as Jenn picked up a hand bag that was sitting next to where he was sitting. "What is that?" He asked looking around to see if any ladies seemed to be looking for it.
Jenn couldn't help but smile as she gave it to him. "Here's your bag that you left." Feeling a little embarrassed, Josh took it from her and let it hang from his arm, not too different at what he'd seen both Jenn and Courtney do in the past. "Lets go home so we can talk about it. I don't want others to know about the book." Nodding, Josh followed her outside as Jenn took the keys out of her pocket and clicked the unlock button on the key causing the lights one a car to light up. "There's our ride." She took Josh's hand and led him to the car. Making their way over to the white cross over SUV, Josh marveled at the amount of snow that had already fallen. He watched as Jenn walked over to the driver's side and got in. "Aren't you going to get in so we can go home?" She said with a wink of her eye.
Feeling his heart skip a beat, Josh made his way over to the passenger's side of the car and got in. Doing so, he caught something out the corner of his eye. Not thinking too much of it, Josh got in and buckled up for the drive home.
