This choice: I wish for both, to become a shapeshifter AND a thoughtchanger • Go Back...Chapter #4I wish both, to be shapeshifer & thoughtchanger by: DougTF   Taking a deep breath, looking down at himself as he considers all the dreams and fantasies and scifi things he's had rattling around in his mind seemingly his whole life, he softly whispers "I wish it, to be a shapeshifter and a thoughtchanger please Genie" bracing himself, for what he doesn't know.
Genie smiles, and gestures, hands moving about, a shimmery sparkle coming from them, that swirls about, then settles into Dan, his body glowing and then the shimmer fades, and he doesn't appear any different. He is about to say something, ask if it worked, wondering how he would know, wishing he understood this...he puts a hand to his temple briefly.
In wanting to know how it worked, his mind and thoughts changed, fulfilling his desire, changing his mind to understand how to shift his form, how to change his psyche and persona. His eyes widen at the knowledge and he looks at Genie, blinking. She giggles softly and smiles back "I understand, it's a lot...I'd suggest starting small, especially with thoughtchanging. Oh and don't worry, I won't grant wishes to anyone else you make yourself think as, unless you first tell me to do so master"
Dan nods, and realizes what she means...if he made himself into a whole new person, completely changing his thoughts and persona, the new person could not make a wish to erase Dan. Or if he made himself an animal or object, it could not access her as genie. "Thank you, that's a really smart provision there Genie" She waves a hand dismissively "It's not a provision, you are my master no matter your form, but no one else is my master, unless you allow it. Even if the person is who you change into"
He considers how to test this, standing in his mudroom, the downstairs entrance to his house. He focuses on changing his hair to red, making himself have freckles, and for good measure, losing four inches of height. It does so, seamlessly, and he gasps and laughs.He then adjusts his features, becoming Asian, Chinese actually in appearance, and looks down at himself, then stares into his own face in the mirror, seeing a different person staring back. Genie nods "Very good, small changes to start, but don't forget your other ability as a thoughtchanger..perhaps speak Chinese since it matches your form master?" Dan blinks and focuses, and suddenly he can speak Chinese fluently and laughs, saying a number of things. Genie answers in Chinese as well {very good... now being a thoughtchanger isn't just adding knowledge, but you can also remove it} and he concentrates, and tries to forget how to speak and read English. Suddenly, none of the words on labels around him make any sense, and indeed, he is thinking in Mandarin. Genie says something and he has no clue what she said, but she laughs. Then she speaks in Chinese {I said you make an exceptional Chinese person though think you would be cuter as a Chinese woman, and you stared at me blankly, since you do not speak English anymore} And Dan realizes the truth of it: he just altered his mind to speak Chinese and remove English, changing how his mind works flawlessly. But she suggested he become a woman? bracing himself, he closes his eyes, thinking, trying to shift both shape and thought... she opens her eyes and sees a tiny Chinese woman with long black hair staring back at her, and wonders why it didn't work, why didn't she change who she was and how she thought? She thinks back and hits a blank wall, she can't recall anything more than a few moments ago and she looks at Genie {Did I just make myself , well, myself from being someone else?} Genie nods {nicely done master, well, excuse me, I don't know your name, but yes...my master shape and thought shifted himself into you. You are very pretty but I am sure it is disorienting having no past.} She gets concerned, and asks {how do I fix this, what happens to me?} Genie puts a hand on her shoulder {Do not worry, you do not know how to shapeshift or thoughtchange, so you just exist as yourself. I am sorry this is disorienting for you, but my master needs to learn} She blinks and then fades, shifting back into Dan in his regular male self, with his knowledge of English, but keeping his Chinese. "OH. MY. GOD." Genie giggles "Yes, you see what I mean master? Do not feel bad about the people you become being disoriented, but maybe work to have them be at ease with their lack of existence beyond when they form? It is simple to build that into any psyche you create and will help them function in whatever capacity you wanted to become them"
Dan blinks and looks at her, deciding:   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
