Chapter 6: Overpowered Hero stomped by weak ass enemy by: Landover& on Apr 3rd 2022
Jesse was feeling both extremely proud and exhausted. It had taken him months but he and some mercenaries turned friends had finally put a stop to the Grand Duke's plan to force the world into a war that would have decimated the population. He had not seen that such an endeavor would have led him not only to stop the Grand Duke but have to face off against a reawaken demon once sealed by a group of heroes from the lost history of his world.
Now all his friends had returned to their homes and he was alone again. Jesse felt like he could sleep for a month as he used Windpassage to take him back to his home village as he used the last of his supply of MP. Jesse was not expecting a hero's welcome when he returned but he had seen someone greeting him but no one was by the town gates. To his shock, the gates were locked making him recall that he had talked to the mayor all those months ago. Jesse had taken down a team of bandits that had been plaguing the town which started him on his journey. He had urged the mayor to lock the gates each night after sundown just in case the bandits ever staged a revenge attack.
He thought that the mayor would have ended the practice after a month or so, but maybe a new group of bandits had moved into the last group's hideout. Feeling weary Jesse decided to check the place out before knocking on the gates to be let into the town. Making a five-minute trek to the cave where the Red Asctos had set up as their base.
