So what is the boon that causes our protagonist to find themselves suddenly younger?

A. An powerful and vile dragon is defeated by our hero(es). Impressed, the dragon surprisingly accepts the defeat with nobility, and grants our hero(es) the boon of absorbing its draconic power and vitality. Unfortantely for our hero(es) the vitality part causes some unintentional side effects... Or maybe this was one last laugh on the dragon's end.

B. A comparatively short-lived Human becomes a long-lived Elf... You can probably see where this is going.
