Four anthropomorphic praying mantises

The four Lupin sized insectoids gathered at the lower end of the western side of the pass call themselves the Ith-Kee. They are neither good nor evil. They are too alien for those concepts to apply to them.

The Ith-Kee are territorial, however, and understand the concept of others having territories as well. There is an understanding between the Lupin and the Ith-Kee that this pass is Lupin territory. On occasion, the Ith-Kee have to be reminded of that fact.

That’s what you and your master are doing here tonight, seeing if the Ith-Kee needed to be reminded.

By the look of the spears and knives they were carrying, this was an Ith-Kee hunting party. The four Ith-Kee hadva discussion among themselves, then proceeded downwards on their side of the mountains.

Both you and your Master breathed a sigh of relief. Nobody wanted a skirmish with the Ith-Kee. For the most part, they were good neighbors, staying on their side of the pass and preventing others from reaching that pass.kẽ much

With your last hunt a success, you and your Master returned home, where your clan celebrated your becoming a Hunter.

The celebration lasted a week, and it took you a full day to recover. Afterwards, you decided to visit Wairwol, for no other reason than to celebrate becoming a Hunter. You wanted to celebrate with some human ale. Whatever else you said about humans, they knew how to brew ale.

Little did you know that when you got to Wairwol, you would be recruited by the leader of an all novice adventuring party. The leader was a warrior and a
