Bianca was excited for her journey but her dad wasn't having it. "No, no, a thousand time no!"
Bianca couldn't understand but wasn't letting him stop her. "But I'm... I'm a good trainer! I'll prove it!"
As she stormed downstairs, her mother stopped her and gave her a pokéflute. "I believe in you, sweetie. Go prove him wrong."
She took the flute, hugged her mother goodbye, and left.
When she got to the lab, Cheren and Hilbert already there, waiting for her.
They went inside and were then escorted to Juniper, who was standing in front of a battle arena.
When they were ready, she greeted them. "I've been waiting for you. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Professor-"
"Professor Juniper." Cheren interrupted. "We know your name."
She smiled, calmly. "Cheren, today is a special day. So it would be best to do this formally." She cleared her throat and started again. "My name is Professor Juniper, and I am researching when and how the creatures we call pokémon came into existence." She stepped forward and handed each of them a pokédex. "These devices, called pokédex, will help record information on pokémon you've met or caught. But what use is such a device without a partner?"
She nodded to her assistant who brought a capsule holding three pokéballs. In front of each pokéball was a picture of a pokémon.
Cheren and Bianca both agreed to let Hilbert choose first.
