You once again found yourself sitting on the bed in Takemi’s clinic, across from the goth doctor. These sessions were always unpredictable, so you just quietly sat and waited to see what Takemi wanted to talk about today.
“You should be excited today guinea pig; I’ve whipped up a special medicine for us to try today. I’m quite excited to see how it works.”
Takemi leaned over her desk, grabbing a small vial with a clear liquid in it. It looked just like water. If it wasn’t being handed to you by the ethically questionable Takemi, you might have assumed it was. But you had full trust in her. You grabbed the vial, threw your head back, and dumped it all into your mouth in the hope that it would go down as smoothly as possible. Takemi’s medications were always effective, but rarely tasted good. Given the burning sensation that was radiating through your throat, you guessed that this one probably wasn’t an exception.
A few seconds passed, and you started to feel a little woozy, which evolved into a sense of full-on dizziness. You gripped the bed for support but ultimately swayed to your side and blacked out.
You weren’t sure how much later it was when you woke up, but the light peering in through the window hadn’t changed much. From that, you guessed that you’d been out just a few minutes.
“Alright guinea pig. I need to test if this medicine works.”
What is the goal of Takemi’s medicine and how is she going to test it?
1) It’s supposed to increase lung capacity. Takemi’s going to test it by smothering you.
2) It’s supposed to heighten your sense of smell. She puts her stinky socks in your face and sees how visceral of a reaction she gets.
3) It’s supposed to make you obedient. She gives you embarrassing commands to see if you follow them.
