Avance to the First station

You moved forward, your chest still burning from the fresh tattoo. 113. You couldn't stop your hands from trembling. Every step felt like it echoed in your bones.

The next station loomed: Weighing and Measurement.

The woman there was tall, blonde, and wore a tight ponytail and thick protective goggles. Her gloved fingers pointed at the small platform in front of her.

— “Step onto the scale,” she said, without even looking at you.

You obeyed, your feet cold against the metal. A digital display blinked to life with your weight. She jotted it down on a clipboard, expression unreadable.

— “Lie on your back. Arms and legs straight. Do not move.”

You did as you were told, your heart pounding. She turned away for a moment, checking the results of the subject ahead of you — a small, wide man now standing nervously at the side of her table.

He had already been weighed and measured. The scientist looked at him with open disgust.

— “Ugh. This one’s obese and revolting.”

The little man flushed with shame, eyes wide. He looked like he wanted to disappear.

Without hesitation, she took her pen and slashed a red line through the number on his document. Then she grabbed him, walked a few steps, and dropped him into a large cage behind her.

You heard the thud, followed by gasps and groans from inside.

You turned your head. Inside the cage, you saw dozens of others like him — bloated, nervous, some crying, some silent. Piled together like unwanted stock.

— “I don’t know why anyone would want to eat something like that,” she muttered, almost to herself.

Then:
— “Next.”

She turned back to you. Her eyes flicked to your chart. Her fingers hovered over the clipboard.

She studied you.

A pause.

And then, without a word… she reached for her pen and…
