Roy wasn't a fan of the heat and the shining sun almost too bright for his eyes. He had to find somewhere to stay out of the sun's way, and with so many trees so far apart from each other, Roy went towards the closest one. He immediately dropped his backpack then sat down, using the tree's trunk to lay his back on. Roy closed his eyes for a second, breathing the extremely warm air, letting his ears hear the sounds around him and his own heartbeat. It felt peaceful, for a moment.
Thought something felt... odd. Roy felt like he was being watched.
He reopened his eyes and glanced around, there wasn't anybody or any Pokémon nearby. Some in the very distance but not close enough to send shivers down his spine. He was confused and a little worried. Why does he thinks that something is watching him? He was so ready for adventure a few minutes ago, what changed? Was it the heat? The extreme heat frying and boiling his mind out? No, even with all this sweat running down his body, he knew that he wasn't imagining it.
Roy looked around, over and over, yet nothing to start an alarm. Then, he looked up, at the thick branches of the tree he was under. Roy finally saw what was spying on him. A Liepard, a wild Liepard was in the same tree he was under. It was laying on a branch and looking directly back at him, its fearful eyes glancing into his own gaze. Roy felt his heart skip a beat, all that courage and need for adventure, quickly disappearing in one little moment.
The Liepard watched him involuntarily shake in place as way more sweat dripped down his body, and his scared scent becoming stronger. The purple cougar sharped its claws in the tree branche, waiting ready for the strange human to act.
