The Pondering Giantess

Kristen slowly walked over to her younger sibling’s bed, and sat down gently. All the time her bugged, blue eyes were fixed on tiny Daniel, and the two girls’ eyes were fixed on Kristen. For a long time, Kristen simply stared confusedly at Daniel, and nobody said a word. Daniel saw, over the course of several minutes, the expression on Kristen’s face change slowly from confusion, to awe, and finally to a strangely thoughtful expression. He only wondered what she was thinking about, and whether it was good or bad for him. The other girls couldn’t think of a word to say, but were as interested in Kristen’s next move as Daniel was.

Finally she spoke, and her breath wafted over Daniel as a warm, minty breeze. While her breath was comforting for the helpless boy, her words were not comforting at all.
