Eric took a deep, long breath. He didn't want to chance going further into the walls. God only knew what he'd find in there.
So instead, he edged forward and placed his hand on the trap, climbing up and onto the top of it. In front of him was a huge network of metal and Eric took a deep breath. Leaning back against the wall, he began to slowly edge to the side.
It seemed an awfully long way.
Eric hardly dared to even breathe as he inched to the side, concentrating on pressing anything but the metal parts of the trap lest he set the unfairly large contraption off.
He was closer, closer...he began to relax as he neared the corner of the trap. He lost concentration...and kicked the metal.
Eric reacted faster than he ever had in his life and dived to the side, jumping off the trap just as it sprang up. He didn't know what would have happened to him if he'd been caught in it, but he knew it would have been bad for him either way.
Wiping sweat from his brow, the six-inch scientist took a few steps into the room.
