Alan reached a tentative hand toward Ron's big toe. As hand touched the soft fabric of the sock, he moved his other hand onto the toe as well, and slowly hardened his grip. Ron didn't seem to feel it, and Alan slowly moved to start climbing, but the moment, he started to push himself upward, putting the pressure of all his weight onto Ron's toe, Ron's foot gave a sudden jerk, and he went flying off.
As Alan crashed back down on the carpet, he barely felt the pain, but quickly looked up to the heights of Ron's knees, hoping that his older brother would look down, but apparently, it hadn't actually been enough to catch Ron's attention, but was just an involuntary jerk of the foot. Alan got back to his feet and cautiously approached Ron's mountainous foot once again.
This time, as he began to push himself up, Ron's foot gave only the slightest twitch, and Alan managed to hold on. In a second, he was on top of it, looking up again hopefully for Ron's face, but he apparently still didn't feel him.
Alan walked the short distance up Ron's foot, until he came to the cuff of his jeans, wondering how he should climb up from here. If he went up the inside of the pant-leg, he would be touching Ron's skin, and then Ron might feel him. But what if Ron still didn't respond to his touch? He could get all the way to Ron's crotch, and not only be trapped, but be trapped with his older brother's hot, musty privates.
He decided to test it to see if Ron could feel his touch, and pressed his hand firmly to Ron's bare skin at his ankle. He left it there for a moment, and even moved it around a bit, but apparently, he was small enough that his touch didn't warrent even the tiniest of flashes in Ron's head, as his brother gave no response.
He stepped back again, once again contemplating his options. Ron was bound to be more sensitive even to his small touch higher up his leg, and it seemed like touch was probably going to be the best way to get Ron's attention, especially with the TV blaring. But if it didn't work, and Alan was trapped, even temporarily... stuck in his brother's underpants for even the shortest period of time didn't sound like too appealing a situation.
What should he do? he wondered again.
