The Shoelace

Alan didn't wait for a single second. He made a daring leap into the air, reaching for the shoelace hanging at the side of Chris's shoe and grasped it for dear life. He struggled to hold on as Chris's foot swung forward, swinging Alan with it. When Chris's foot thumped to the floor, Alan took the second of opportunity to climb a little higher and stengthen his hold on the shoelace.
When Chris next moved his foot, Alan had a little easier a time holding on, but he knew he would never be able to do anything as long as Chris was up and moving around. The giant would have to settle down before Alan could hope to get his attention. In the meantime, he looked for a safer place on Chris's shoe to wait...
