This choice: Go for Buffy  •  Go Back...
Chapter #7

Starting out and Giving up

"We definitely have to go for Buffy. She is the best choice. Plus, she is shorter than Dawn."

As Xander said this, most everyone nodded in agreement, with the exception of Warren, who just glowered up at the immense form of Buffy. Xander then added "We should probably go know, before they leave and leave us here to kill each other."

"All right all. This will be a treat, Aren't you all excited? Let's climb that Buffy mountain!" said Spike in a sarcastic tone. "Well, you pansies commin'?" With that, the five of them took off at a sprint towards Buffy's tennis Shoe.

Xander ran right behind Spike, toward the mass of blue and white ahead of them: Buffy's shoe. Now nearly there, the shoe rose above all of them, by the best estimates 20 stories or more to the ankle, which is covered by the blue jeans.

Stopping just in front of the side of the shoe, they looked up in awe.

"How are we supposed to climb up that?" yelled Warren, obviously scared out of his mind.

"Well," began Spike, "You look to the left about 50 feet and look at the shoelace. You move over to said shoelace, grab onto the weave, and climb. We'll see where it takes us from there."

Sure enough, to the left was a gigantic shoelace. It's plastic tipped end is a good 30 feet long, and the lace itself is about that far across. At this size the weave of the lace is easy to climb.

Now by the shoelace, the five grab on, beginning the climb.

"Good thing Buffy never learned that all too important childhood lesson of tieing her shoes." says Xander.

They are halfway up the lace, nearly to the top of the shoe, when the world suddenly moves.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!" they all scream (except for Spike, of course) as the shoelace begins to swing. Buffy has begun to walk.
================================

Let's get going, Willow. I think it was just my imagination." Buffy calls into the training room.

Willow emerges from the room, worry on her face. "I called and talked to Xander. He said he would be here. It's not like him."

I know. We'll chew him out later. Let's just get home, then we'll call him." replied Buffy.

"Oh, OK. It's been a long day anyway."
with that, Willow begins to follow Buffy and Dawn out of the Magic shop.
