Daniel just looked at Isabelle not knowing what to say, but the princess already had a plan and gave him a reasurring look as if to say 'I got this'.
"Well, you see, the thing is that just before you left the castle on this noble quest my parents, the king and queen, asked Daniel and I to accompany you."
"Now why would they do that Princess, you two are but children," Bernard asked.
"Don't let our ages fool you, we can be very useful on such a journey." The knights just looked at each other silently saying 'yeah, right'. "Don't look at each other like that," Isabelle continued. "It's the truth. Look, when you come to a village, or meet someone along the way, it will be to your advantage if I'm around. After all I am a Princess and will be treated as such, and you, my dear knights, will also be treated as royalty, although less so than myself obviously. Not to mention that my dear Daniel here is training to become a knight, so he can do anything you can do. Not to mention that this could be considered a test to judge whether he has what it takes to be a knight, which I believe he does." Isabelle smiled in Daniel's direction then just looked at the knights to see if they believed her.
