"PRINCESS?!?!" Buttercup screamed in outrage. Buttercup wasn't exactly what you'd call Princess' dearest friend, on the contrary Princess and the Powerpuff Girls had been the most bitter of enemies since kindergarten, and time only made this feud even stronger. But it showed how much Buttercup loved fighting that she didn't just quit right there and then. Buttercup fiddled with her nose ring absent mindedly for a moment as she thought the situation through.
"I want that fighting championship trophy" She said determinedly, "And Princess isn't going to stop me!", and with that, Buttercup entered the girls toilet for a cigarette.

After a rather uneventful day at school, Buttercup was walking home with Amy (Buttercup didn't often speak to her sisters anymore).
"So you going enter the competition, even though you'll have to have Princess as your coach?" Amy asked after Buttercup had told her the situation.
"I know I can win that trophy!" Buttercup said passionately, "And nothing is going to stop me!", the look of grim determination gave a clue to why Amy admired her so much.
"You truly are the best Powerpuff" Amy said in admiration, Buttercup smiled.

After dinner Buttercup set out to the rich side of town where Princess lived, it would have been a long journey, but due to Buttercups 'special abilities' it only took 5 minutes. Buttercup stood outside the huge iron gates of the huge intimidating mansion where Princess took residence. Buttercup rang the bell on the gate and a voice immediately crackled over the intercom.
"Yeah?" Came the familiar brattish tone of Princess, "Who are ya and whaddaya want?", Buttercup sighed, she couldn't believe what she was doing, she felt so dirty, being here when her excuse wasn't that she was going to beat Princess up for her latest crime.
"Errr, hi Princess" Buttercup began awkwardly, "It's Buttercup, I read that poster at school about the Fighting Championship and I'd like to talk to you about it", there was a few moments silence which was broken by a very satisfied smirk from Princess.
"Ah Buttercup" Princess said in a long drawling voice, "I've been expecting you", there was something in her voice which suggested that she was grinning widely. The gate opened and Buttercup set off over the huge meadow which was Princess's front garden...
