"Well, this is beyond awkward," Rouge muttered.
Madonna Garnet, the one human of the bunch, just shook her head. "Try insane, partner," she said.
"Wait, partner?" Rouge asked.
Madonna shook her head. "Do you remember a life where you were teamed up with a human named Topaz?"
Rouge blinked. "I THOUGHT you looked familiar. You're her, right?"
Madonna nodded. "Yeah. We're apparently the same..." she said. "This is so damn confusing..."
Shadow scowled. He wanted to hurt something, and finding out it was pointless was grating on him. "Anyone have a way out of this? Because I'm at a lost..." he muttered.
"Unfortunately no," Captain Striker said. The mantis shrimp Mobian clicked his claw in irritation. "The best I can think of right now is to try and actually win this sick game, so that the villains don't get the wish."
Shadow kicked a wall. "I hate this feeling of helplessness," he muttered.
Dulcy frowned, the dragoness having trouble reconciling her very different sets of memories, sometimes staggering as she forgot which body type she had, her previous life's fat one or her current life's old one. "What else can we do, though?" she said.
"...Nothing," Shadow said. He looked everyone over. "...I'm going to start playing this stupid game. Whatever the rest of you want to do is up to you." He dashed off, presumably to brood.
"He's certainly friendly," Geoffery muttered. He was just glad he was no loonger possessed by Naugus, and that no one was bringing it up.
"He's right, though," Rouge said. "Let's go... let's go eat people, I guess. Eggman will definitely be making his people go for the wish. And the other villain team might not be working together, but at the very least the Zeti will be definitely be actively hunting."
The group split up, some partnering up, some going alone, all heading out to participate in Predator's strange contest...
