Chapter #8

The Lighthouse

    by: Unknown
As Clare was putting away her "doll" Kate, Mac casually looked over. "Hey, Sis, that's a new doll, isn't it?" Clare nodded solemnly. "Mind if I take a look at it. Promise not to hurt it."
Clare frowned. "Well, OK." Mac gingerly held Kate while she remained perfectly frozen. Mac ran her hair through his fingers. "Wow, this feels almost real! Mom and Dad must have put out big bucks for this." Clare gave a triumphant smile at this assurance of her parent's general approval of her, then began playing with another doll. Mac fingered Kate's hair for a few more second and then, becoming bored, tossed her onto the floorboard. Fortunately for Kate, she landed inside a duffle bag full of clothes. She stealthily made her way to the bottom of the bag, hoping that by remaining out of sight, she wouldn't suffer from renewed interest from either Mac or Clare.
She had just made it to the bottom of the bag when she froze in fear: the duffle bag was being zipped closed! She felt the car coming to a stop and then felt the bag (and her inside it!) being lifted. She heard voices, but buried under the clothes, wasn't able to decipher what they were saying. Worse of all she felt the shrinking coming back, soon enough she was 3 inches tall and naked again.
"Well, Mac, you looking forward to spending another weekend at the lighthouse with Tim!"
"Yes sir!"
Mac's Dad smiled. Six years ago, he had bought a beach house just as another family bought the one next to it. Both families had sons of the same age. The sons had taken an instant liking to each other. The first year they even dragged out a dryer box between their two houses and dubbed it "The lighthouse".
Tim's Dad was an award winning architect, while Mac's Dad had started life as a civil engineer before moving up the ranks of managment. The two conspired to build the boys a one room clubhouse between the two houses. Each year it became more elaborate, until a miniature light house (still one story, the lighthouse portion was strictly a prop) stood between the two. It had electricity, running water, inside plumbing, a mini-fridge and microwave, plus a tv and an Xbox.
Last year, the boys declared their independence, wanting to camp out at the lighthouse undisturbed (except going to either one beach house or the other for meals or when a storm was gathering in.) Since the boys were in easy sight of either beach house when they played outside and they both carried cellphones which their occasionally overprotective mothers could call them on, the demand was acquiesed to and the lighthouse boys had their independence.
Mac was walking to the lighthouse and saw Tim already there. He grinned and waved and Tim grinned right back. Boy this was going to be a great weekend, Mac thought. Not a cloud in the sky and no clouds all weekend long. Little did he know he was carring a six-inch naked woman in his duffle bag. Little did Kate know she would be spending the weekend alone with two eleven year olds.
