Rachel immediately froze at Jenn's statement. Her eyes widened. She opened her mouth, trying to find something to say, then shut it, then opened it again.
"J...Jenn...it's me...Rachel. Remember? Your friend?"
Jenn merely pointed the remote at her.
"No...you're not my friend. You're just a bug!" she spat.
"No, Jenn, please!"
"That thing on the floor," Jenn said, pointing to her brother with her bare foot. "is a bug. And anyone that protects it deserves the same fate as it!" she was just about to push the button when Rachel cried out.
"NO! Wait!"
Jenn lowered the remote to her side, glaring at her former friend.
"What?" she said coldly.
"I...I don't care about bugs! I...I hate them!" Rachel said. She looked down at Eddy, trying to form a facial expression of hatred. But it failed to truly come out, and she looked more like she was pitying the creature that lay before him. Because that was what he was, right? A creature? An insignificant bug?
She screwed up her face again trying to make it form a shape of raw contempt, but again failed. Instead, she looked back up at Jenn a tear forming in her eye. Jenn, along with the other friends, were still glaring at her. Jenn was even beginning to raise the remote again, and Rachel again looked back at Eddy, who had just woken up. He was screaming at the top of his lungs again, and he quickly stood up and began to run away.
He felt a massive force push him from behind, knocking him on the ground. He immediately rolled over to see what it was, and was met with the massive sight of Rachel's big toe, which she had used to knock him over. He peed his pants as first her left foot raised into the air, landing next to him, then her right foot doing the same. Finally, Rachel spoke.
"Bugs...need...to be...squished." Eddy's mouth suddenly fell open. There were no words or sounds he could make to express the feelings of fear and betrayal he felt. Rachel was the only one of Jenn's friends who had ever liked him. One of the only friends he had ever had, period. And now, here he was, standing between her bare feet like an ant, unable to do anything but watch as she slowly rose her left foot high above his quivering form. He could just barely see her face in between the gap of her big and second toes.
"I'm sorry." she mouthed at him, and then brought her foot down upon his body. She rested it on him at first, as if unsure of whether or not she even wanted to do it. Then, finally, a tear fealling from her eye, she forced her foot down the rest of the way, feeling the sickening crunch of Jenn's brother collapsing into nothing underneath.
She twisted her foot into the fibers of the carpet, smearing the blood all over before Jenn put a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, hey, it's okay." she slowly patted Rachel's back as Rachel burst into tears, crying into Jenn's shoulder. Jenn gave her a hug with one arm, holding the remote with the other. "It's okay, Rach, it's okay..." Rachel merely cried some more as the other friends began to look uncomfortable. "Besides, we were gonna shrink you anyway." With that, Jenn pushed Rachel away from her, hard, knocking Rachel against the wall. She cried out in pain, and tried to get up to tackle Jenn, but was met in mid-air with the burst of light from the remote.
Rachel landed in the carpet at the height of merely an inch, if that. She slowly picked herself up, knowing what had happened, but refusing to believe it. When see saw the sight of ten toes raising and lowering in anticipation, reality hit home.
It didn't help that she saw the same thing on several other pairs of feet, just a few feet behind Jenn.
Rachel looked up, crying once more, into the god-like face of Jenn.
"Wh...why?" she asked.
"Oh, come on, you know why...we saw you hanging out with that nerd Steve in the halls last week!"
"What? He's my cousin!"
At that, there was a slight pause. They had thought she was going out with him. Finally, Jenn spoke up.
"Oh, well. It has to have been an hour since I've stepped on someone. Wrong place, wrong time, Rach." It was just a quick motion to raise her foot over the quivering form of her friend, and an even quicker one to bring it crashing down on her.
Jenn felt the blood ooze from beneath her foot, and twisted it back and forth.
"My God, this feels so good...wait till you try it, guys."
"We were gonna try it. You promised Rachel to us, remember?" they said. Jenn merely shrugged. She removed her foot from Rachel's flattened corpse, and looked down on it.
"Oh, my Gosh!" she said. "I can see Eddy's head on Rachel's foot! It's so small...it's like a piece of lint!" she giggled. She finally regained herself, and stood up to her full height. She stepped on Rachel again, and then turned to her friends.
"That's what happens to bugs in this house." she grinned at them, and they grinned back. "What do you guys wanna do now?"
There was a slight pause, before Bridget answered:
