A nose for adventure

Stan struggled to get control of the sub as it approached Diane's nose. The controls weren't responding, but Diane started to move her head. Stan sighed with relief as his wife's head turned, but before long he realized that she hadn't moved enough. The sub was still drawing nearer to Diane's left nostril. Stan once again struggled for control, but his efforts were in vain. A moment later, the sub entered Diane's nose. Even inside, it continued to rise, flying through the forest of hair that filled the nostril. By this point, Stan gave up trying to control the sub, since it was too late anyway. He simply let his vehicle fly on its own, heading deeper and deeper into his wife's nose. Eventually, the sub hit a particularly dense clump of nose hair and stopped, as if caught in a net.
