This is a long rambling poem that reveals much about the poet. The poet questions being different from everyone else. They can't find their shadow. But that doesn't really seem to be the only thing that they're searching for. Questions are posed that are all too familiar to myself an any other reader. We all question identity. We all try to frame it with our pasts with what we've done. The poet then seems to chose a focus not on the past, the things we've done but on our future on the things we do then the shadow is rediscovered like a sense of self. And the question becomes was it really gone or just outshone by doubt.
