What I liked ...

*Bulletr* I spotted this contest when I was looking for which contest to enter for this month's "The Contest ChallengeOpen in new Window.. I definitely want to enter it, so I thought I would send you a review in the mean time. I really can't praise this contest enough. Everything about it makes me happy . You have laid out the contest page beautifully. The image of the paw with the heartbeat running through it is just wonderful. Anyone who loves a pet will understand this. No words are needed. I also love the red paw in your description window. It makes the contest stand out.

*BulletR* And then we come to the photo of Dottie Ruth. Oh my. She looks adorable. I love the picture of her with her crossed paws. I had a collie cross once, and he used to cross his paws. Maybe it's a collie thing. I also love how you mentioned Miley, and you linked your poem dedicated to her. It is a very moving poem. Saying goodbye that one last time is the hardest thing, isn't it? And our pets always stay with us.

*BulletR* The rules of this contest are clearly stated. You allow poems up to 60 lines, which is a lot of space to write to our hearts' content. And I love the idea of writing poems for our animals. You also show us how many entires are needed to give out the prizes, which is always good to know. It looks like you've had a lot of entries for April already. Your prompt of writing about how our pets calm us is clearly popular.

Suggestions: The only thing I might change is that you say the winner will receive one of the merit badges shown above. But you don't say which, or whether the winner gets to choose which. That would be nice to find out.

Parting comments: Visually, this contest is delectable. The photos of Dottie and the banner at the top of the page are fabulous. I am looking forward to entering this contest. I have a question. Does the poem have to be written specifically for this contest, or can we use our poem for this contest and one other?

Beautiful contest! I'm so happy I spotted it.
